He fought off a whole squad of cops without shooting and/or killing anyone. BJJ and Karate were enough apparently. Yes? Why would he kill them then? Because ACAB

I thought Happy Death Day was whatever. A step below decent. But I actually liked Happy Death Day 2 You. Pretty early on it decides it doesn’t wanna be a slasher movie and gets pretty creative. Would’ve liked to see a third one. That actress was good but doesn’t seem to be getting much work now. And the love interest’s career ended from old right wing tweets which also seems like a shame.

Saw this last night, adding it to the canon. Every shootout scene is the best shootout scene. I don't love this era of Bruce Willis (all he does is variations of grimace face) but the movie still kicks ass. Noir voiceover with a mean western vehicle. A fun play on a classic (as a Kurosawa remake.)

I had a lot of fun watching the first happy death day, but didn’t really like the second one for some reason. I watched them both on a plane though, so definitely not ideal

Regardless of how we feel about the Happy Death Day franchise, we can all agree she makes us swoon and go hubba hubba.

HDD1 was fun for the time.
HDD2 was the time I ever fell asleep in a movie theater, missing more than half the film

I am glad you all enjoyed your Disney ass revenge flick. Seriously. I enjoy plenty of corny movies.
Im kinda surprised they didnt end this one with a fade to white and his brother giving a thumbs up from heaven.

i really hated Rebel Ridge. plot was asinine, coward writers couldn’t just have him light up a sheriff’s department. “well lets make another deal” (cops get beaten up) “okay we’re gonna make one more deal” (more cops get batman takedowns) - so fuckin dumb. and then at the end of the movie, who saves the protagonist from the bad cops? the good cops! sooo fuckin dumb. they really just need to make DORNER Don't forget...they were only corrupt because the police are underfunded (LOL).
they were underfunded because they were corrupt. they lost funding because they kept fucking up and decided to just try to sweep it under the rug (hence the 90 day release window/footage overwrite thing).

“Insufficiently critical of cops” is a criticism of Rebel Ridge that only lands with the true blue believers in the church of ACAB.

At no point is the audience supposed to remark “gee, Don Johnson kinda has a point.”

While nonsensical, I accept your disappointment in Saulnier not making the movie you wanted to see. But I would just stop there because it doesn't seem you're picking up on what was actually presented.

Underrated movie, even Carpenter fans don't seem to talk about it much.
Prince of Darkness fucking rules.

Prince of Darkness was good Yeah, very cool mash up premise. I remember thinking the Alice Cooper stuff was annoying and the (basically) zombies outside weren’t actually that scary or anything. Definitely one of his good ones.

The Ward is on amazon and I keep kicking that can down the road too because its supposed to be horrendous but I gotta scratch it off the list and just watch it. I have other shitty horror to watch for the month of October so I wanna watch it before September ends lol

Im kinda surprised they didnt end this one with a fade to white and his brother giving a thumbs up from heaven. It was his cousin, not his brother. "I don't know enough about the afterlife to trust in it, so while I'm here, and he's not, I gotta haunt these motherfuckers myself." I'm beginning to believe you only watched this made up movie you wrote in your head.

There’s some “eh” moments in it, but I think sometimes people get a little too critical of pulp-y movies. If the soundtrack and set design and camera work is good, it’s good.

Wish he’d made more movies like Starman. I just like imagining alternate timelines where cool directors make no bad movies. So, Carpenter loses about half of his body of work and adds lots of swings that pay off.

I still remember, well over two decades later, how weird Clea Duvall getting beheaded looks.
