They should but they won't. They just extended him and gave him a good pay day. This franchise is a joke. Joe Burrow is one of the best QB's in the league but every time he's given the ball late in the 4th with a chance to close the game he comes up short every time. Adjusting my QB tiers. It's Mahomes>Allen>Jackson>Herbert>Burrow. Joe is great but doesn't deserve top 4 until he can prove he can close out a game. Big stats don't mean shit without wins. The other guys listed above him over come obstacles (bad OL, bad play calling) and win the game when given the opportunity.

Putting Herbert ahead of Burrow this season is absurd. Herbert is playing well but they're winning because of their defense. The Bengals have the third worst scoring defense in the league.

I get that but the Bengals defense got two huge stops in a row. Two opportunities for the offense to win the game and they came up short on both of them. The defense keeps letting down the offense when they're playing well, and the offense keeps letting down the defense when they're playing well. They're not capable of complimentary football. Burrow needs to be a better leader because the HC isn't a leader at all.

He scored 10 more points against the Chargers D than anybody else this season. Before last night the Chargers D was averaging 13 points per game, which is ridiculous for the NFL in 2024. The Bengals are giving up 27.

Burrow took a team with the same head coach to a Superbowl, which is more than can be said for anybody else you listed besides Mahomes. The difference is Burrow is being asked to carry a poorly coached team.

He's always carried a poorly coached team. He always will because this franchise doesn't make huge changes like others do. He has to accept this is the way it is and if he wants to win a SB he's going to have to be perfect and lead the charge cause the coaches and front office aren't going to do enough to help him.

Alright you're right he's better than Herbert. I jumped the gun because we can't beat Herbert. But then again Josh Allen can't beat the Bengals either. Im just pissed off there's been about 8 games in his career that he's had the ball under 2 minutes with a chance to win it and just hasn't. Y'all don't know how frustrating it is the have the statistical best QB but can't finish a game. And I'd like to note he's still the guy for me, love having him here. I just want him to reach full potential and not end up Dan Marino. Also the defense carried them to that Super Bowl for the most part.

That’s a game the Chargers would have lost in previous years. I think Herbert is benefiting from having a coach that track record wise does very well with quarterbacks. However, I think once he gets to Mahomes or Allen in the playoffs the ride will be over.

Ultimately with the Bengals, I think the HC will be gone by the end of this year because Jamaar Chase and I’m sure other players are extremely unhappy. Granted it started with Chase not getting a contract extension to start the season. This has been brewing as the team is snakebitten this year and lost so many close games. They will want to make Chase happy to have him stay in Cincinnati with a new coach. He might go elsewhere because they disrespected him not paying back in August.

Burrow is there till 2029 I believe so a head coaching change would be step one and then signing Chase would be step 2. Step 3 would be hitting big on the upcoming draft.

The Bengals can use the 5th year option on Jamar so he can't walk this year. They will extend him but they won't fire ZT. They're like the Bears and Cowboys in the aspect they're a family run business who does things their way (which is the wrong way in all 3 cases) and they'll only ever have coaches they have control over and won't buck back. Zac is their perfect puppet just like Marvin before him.

Since dds quit again, literally only one poster knows what it's like to have a qb that can consistently be handed the ball in the last two minutes and be counted on to just win. Football is hard.

Plus last night was on the kicker. He makes those two kicks, the defense schemes different and they'd still have been in a position to kick a game winning third. Breathe, my guy
