way late on this but I finally hit up Hollywood Studios for SW fun and after an entire day trying to ride Rise of the Resistance (3hr + wait times) I was ready to write it off and chalk the day up to a loss. We finally got in like 30 mins before the park closed, waited an hour and my mind was totally blown. The ride delivers on all fronts, totally immersive! It still sucks that they basically only focus on the Disney flicks, even Star Tours is sequel trilogy now. Rise of the Resistance is maybe the best amusement park "ride" I've ever been on. I was giddy like a little kid after. |

after andor i dont know if i can go back to mando. can someone explain the jedi scene? i thought the jedi were gone besides ahsoka and luke Probably a flashback- maybe to the madalore war with the jedi or order 66. |

Andor was great, I completely agree. This is a franchise that I think is best experienced on the big screen though and it's large enough where the inability to make at least one film every couple of years is insane to me. Oh wait, you want MORE movies? Yes, with the caveat that they're done well. The movies coming out were always an event for me from the time I was a kid, regardless of whether or not the movie ended up being any good. Just not as much hype for the television shows and, I've said this before, I'm hesitant about the future of the Mandalorian after how shitty Book of Boba Fett was and the transparent attempt to keep "Baby Yoda" in the cultural zeitgeist. |

All of that being said...I just read a bunch of season three leaks today and it seems like it will be pretty tight.
I've also been reading the next movie will be announced at Celebration, not that that means anything at this point with every movie announcement so far going absolutely nowhere. Being written by Damon Lindelof and supposedly directed by the person who did Ms. Marvel, which I did not watch. Not exactly thrilled by that on paper. Supposedly takes place after the Skywalker Saga.

That seems like the obvious play and I don't know why it isn't being done. Literally just adapt KotOR well and maybe add a twist to make the dark side ending canon and you will print an easy billion dollars.

I never bothered watching the Book of Boba Fett because I didn't hear any good things about it. Do I need to watch it to understand whats going on in the mandalorian? Its my understanding that grogu was in some boba fett episodes

Just read spoiler-free reviews for the first two episodes. The consensus was that this episode was picking up all of the side quests and that next week's is great.

Someone high up at Disney definitely sent a "more baby yoda" memo. Pirates of the Mandalorian part sucked so bad and felt real disney, like they character actors moved like they were in fucking Descendants- I expected them to break out into song about their clubhouse being turned into a school. WHAT the fuck was that seaweed kale pirate? They didn't even need to show him. The show has mostly upheld the lived in aesthetic of the OG trilogy, however the stuff on Nevarro all felt like a Fan Film- cheap looking making up, no grit. The cleanest pirates to ever sail the vast galaxy. Even the Mandos at the beginning looked like cosplay. Did like the Bo- Katan scene. The episode could have been 3 minutes long or tagged on to whatever comes next. |
