Episode IX starts filming next month.
Lots of rumors floating around about solo movies being put on ice after the box office performance of Solo. Lots of rumors going around about Kathleen Kennedy leaving LucasFilm. Also lots of people saying both of those things are bullshit.
Clone Wars season is coming to Battlefront II this Fall/Winter. Geonosis as a map and Anakin, Obi-Wan, Dooku and Greivous as heroes. Doubtful that it's enough to save one of the biggest punts in the history of games.
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opening up at both American Disney parks next year. I read a rumor that Disney has basically invented Star Wars-like hologram technology for them and that sounds sick.
New Thrawn book comes out this month. Read the first one if you haven't.
Lots of shit going on.

I could definitely see Kennedy being upset about that or just generally getting burnt out and stepping down, but there really doesn't seem to be anything concrete indicating that is the case. I guess we'll see. It's still just hilarious to me that people think Iger would fire her over Solo though, especially because like you pointed out, it still turned out to be a decent fliqq despite the production turmoil. and, y'know, the three other films grossing over a billion dollars each. |

i rewatched the last jedi two nights ago, movie is so sick. never been so interested in watching a character develop as i am in watching Kylo.
and Rey is an atomic jaguar too... cant wait to see what the next movie looks and feels like. fuck all noise

I recently rewatched the Last Jedi, and I stand by that its not really bad, I actually like it alot. Its redundant but the Leah Mary Poppins float is stupid as fuck. I also hate how people are exposed to the vacuum of space multiple times throughout the movie and nothing bad happens to them. It just takes the "real" factor away. I get its sci-fi, but come on.
Other than that, its a beautiful movie and I loved how its pissed off Star Wars fans. Its was new and refreshing to see it just go off directions.
I still haven't seen Solo, I couldn't care less about it.

Last Jedi rules, easily my favorite since ROTJ.
Can’t wait to see Rian Johnson and the guys from Game of Thrones new trilogies. It’s time to move beyond the original trilogy.

Kennedy is the real fucking deal, however expecting her to mimic what Kevin Feige has done with the MCU is a tall order. when it comes to working with directors, she is more of a champion rather than a collaborator which results in some very high highs (Who Framed Roger Rabbit?) and very low lows (The Last Airbender). there really isn't a set way to make a Star Wars movie, and i'm still not sure if there should be just because i want to be surprised and experience something new and creative. that said, i feel like the sequels corrected the biggest George Lucas problems from the prequels (horrible dialog, stiff acting, and bad CGI) but completely abandoned his pacing, sound design, visual motifs, and editing. a more balanced approach and more time between movies would probably be best for the SW universe and the quality of content in general.
also, Bob Iger is a piece of shit and doesn't have a creative bone in his body. he needs to step the fuck back and let the LucasFilm people do their work. and pay your fucking employees while your at it.
