Silent Night Deadly Night and it's remake/redo Silent Night are pretty great whereas Black Christmas is awesome and it's remakes are complete pieces of shit and should be avoided like the plague

The newest Black Christmas was so bad. Not even in a fun bad way. Just bad bad I read that they announced, wrote, filmed, and released this movie in 6 months, and boy does it show. Black Christmas is a terrific title so I get why they used it since they had the rights, but it's so far removed from the original this movie should've been called something else.

My personal goated Christmas horror content. Wish it was higher res but beggars can’t be choosers unfortunately They did that in the Tales From The Crypt movie from the 70's as well. I highly recommend that movie if you haven't seen it.

RIP Flyboy. ![](https://bloody-disgusting.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/enge.jpg) Full extended cut in HD with that sweet Goblin soundtrack in remembrance.

Watched Virus and Leviathan on consecutive days. Both pretty similar films, anyone seen 'em?
Seems like Virus got shit on upon release, but I thought it was good fun and the practical effects are pretty great. I liked Leviathan too. Great cast, with a silly-ass ending.

Got a question for the parents in the thread. At what age are you introducing Shaun of The Dead to your kid? Someone brought this up in a group chat and said "can't wait to watch that with my daughter...#soon." The kid in question is in 6th grade.
Is this dude soft or am I just too lenient? Because that is definitely a movie I would watch with my 6th grade child/neice/nephew if I had any.

My kid is only 3 months old, but I have a ton of nieces and nephews. One of my nephews was knee deep in Freddy Krueger and shit when he was in 3rd grade, but other kids would shit themselves in that circumstance (I know I did at that age lol). All that being said, I know I would have ben absolutely fine at age 12 seeing Shaun of the Dead. For my own kid, I probably won't introduce it to him until after he has at least seen some non comedic zombie stuff so that he appreciates it more. TLDR: 6th grade is probably fine for that movie, but its all relative.

I would also think 6th grade would be ok. The kids and literally all their friends that cameover have the filthiest mouths (no fcc on YouTube I guess) so by that age I was only looking at sex and if it would be too scary. That movie doesn’t have either of those problems.

I kind of made that point in the chat and the dude was all, "yeah, it's a little gory but by now she's seen and heard stuff, so probably fine."
The things I snuck around to watch at the age of 12 would stagger this guy. Not to say I'd suggest it, but I turned out only a little fucked up because of it.

But what do I know I was watching shit like The Howllng and NightHawks when I was Ten.

It's gory and has language but eh. It's not that bad.
I still can't get over Nick Frost dropping a N bomb.

Gore aside, I just think that movie wouldn't be relatable for a kid and they would think it's boring.

I watched Tusk yesterday. All silliness aside, I thought it was ok. I was trying to think of other movies that have the same plot device of someone not letting someone else leave by making up excuses. Misery is one, what other movies are like that?

I like Tusk and there are some great ideas but it's a mishmash of tones that never really works. It could but it just doesn't. Other movies 10 Cloverfield Lane. If I think of any others I'll let you know.
