I assume you’re super into vaccines which is fine. I question that shit and I got 3 shots. I don’t regret my decision but banking on big pharma with rushed vaccines they made money off of is crazy to me now. You can talk about brain worms or we can talk about a low functioning senior citizen or a sociopath

I’m a simp for Biden mostly because it’s funny, but his first couple of years were very good for public policy. In some important ways, his administration has been the most progressive in decades. Inflation Reduction Act, Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, etc. He’s far more supportive of organized labor than Obama or Clinton were.

Nah fuck that. Normal people NEED cars. We literally have to drive to work unlike your goofy ass who prob sits on his goddamn butt all day cars and auto-oriented urban planning has the most deleterious impact on the environment and air quality. The suburban experiment has failed and is destroying municipal economies. That and our truck-dependent supply chain. There’s no way to improve air quality, reduce housing costs, and improve the economic health of cities without a reduction in car dependency. I’m sorry, mots, but you have to see the light.

You can talk about brain worms or we can talk about a low functioning senior citizen or a sociopath It wasn’t a rushed vaccine tho, it was a brand new method for vaccination that had been in the works for years. I honestly think it was originally desighned for HIV. The person who invented it won a Nobel Prize. They also did overlapping trials, rather than relying on the standard amount (or longitudinal studies, which take longer). That’s why they were able to suss out safety and efficacy with these vaccines quicker. But I don’t think you want to discuss facts and science, mots.

I became absolutely transitpilled and new urbanismbased when I started playing Cities Skylines 10 years ago and now I am on a personal crusade to tell everyone I know irl (which is like 2 people) about walkable cities.
But unironically, many people I have talked about the topic that do live in bleak culs-de-sac actually kind of hate that they can't walk anywhere. Even fairly conservative suburban truck people. They like the "good" parts about the 'burbs but many of them would very much like to be able to pop into a local store or something. I've seen people posture that they actually don't mind driving down to the megamart/strip mall/theater complex to get some groceries, but when pressed they tend to agree it's actually a nightmare, unsafe, stressful, wasteful etc etc.
The potential is there I think, but of course the car and "muh freedom" lobby tpes will fight tooth and nail to wage a marketing campaign against any improvements.

one issue doesn't speak to the relevance of *another* issue. Especially when one issue is both proximate and immediate and potentially solvable with domestic means and the other one can't should of some massive geopolitical upheaval.
