The CIA has fallen off so hard it's insane. Imagine going from Arab Spring to this absolute clown show, embarrassing.

I kinda think this one was just Bolivian rightists doing what Bolivian rightists do. US media would’ve gladly covered it if it lasted longer than 15 seconds

Definitely. The internal politics of South America are almost always bizarre. Apparently the general who tried to organize this was recently fired lol.

When you say "CIA" replace "CIA" with "The Jews." Doesn't sound so cool now, does it? replace “The Jews” with “Israel” and now we’re fuckin talkin

project 2025 scares me ngl There's a lot of things about a trump prezzie that should scare you (especially w the sc already hearing what could be the groundwork for denying gender affirming care) but continually more weaponized and distorted polls, isn't it The polls are clearly being used by R's to hedge their bets if Trump loses. He's already talking like he's going to win in a landslide, so if he doesn't, they'll do Jan 6 part 2. I think the polling data could backfire for Trump in that it depresses voter turnout among his non-cultist base, and increases reluctant voter turnout of never-Trumpers and "undecided" voters afraid of a Trump second term. I really think people out here acting like a Trump second term wouldn't be a disaster are fooling themselves. They intend to use the executive branch in extremely authoritarian ways, and they've removed nearly all the guardrails that would stop it and/or eroded trust in the guardrail institutions such that they could simply ignore them with impunity. This has been Republican endgame for so long and it's insane that all it took was a black president to finally wake these fuckers up.

Because it takes a long ass time to organize a mass strike in a country as big and populated in the U.S. a strike is the last resort.

Gives em ample time to organize the thing. Unfortunate that trade union shit in this country works on this timescale tho

Parliamentary election coming up in France, shit sucks.
The fascist RN is going super hard with great message discipline framing themselves as an only implicitly racist party of centre-right renewal (France's official ideology). The big bourgeoisie is basically rowing in behind them, and the centre-left forces around the NFP are looking very weak. If the RN win as big as I'm expecting them to, they'll make great progress and I can't shake the feeling that the Le Pen presidency in 2027 is becoming more of an inevitability.

One of my old timer apprenticeship instructors used to tell this story about New England longshoremen going on strike back in the 60s. The teamsters also wen't on strike and it shut down virtually all commerce on the eastern seaboard. It lasted a whole 12 hours before the cba was approved.

Eight people on a panel is completely ridiculous, CNN is completely rudderless. Just look at how hard they've struggled to fill the Chris Cuomo void.
