Yeah, the federal government should've done something like $50 billon dollars for resilience and disaster response and increased funding to support flood resilience projects, and maybe $1 billion annually for hazard mitigation grants

The claim making the rounds currently is that US Ports rank so low regarding efficiency because of a lack of automation, which is false. The way that things actually work, a lot of US ports are never going to climb to the top in World Bank port efficiency rankings, which are based largely on the duration of port stay for container vessels. If you've got a shit ton of throughput and not as much transshipment, the duration of port stay is going to be longer.
