My granddad was a union toll collector after he retired from glazing and he 100% would have called Harold Daggett Harold F-ggot. tolls is a good comparison. used to be all well paid union workers now fully automated and yet the price of tolls has skyrocketed tremendously even though they eliminated all those wages and benefits I mean I don't care to look into whether toll inflation has outpaced inflation/the cost of maintaining roads, but I guarantee tolls would be higher if they still had to employ an army of pensioned workers to sit in booths. |

I think that pretty much all “free” (bc it isn’t, of course, really free) street parking should be priced according to the market, with fees going towards street improvements. Streamlined process for businesses to build parklets. And, of course, parking minimums for almost all types of buildings should be eliminated. Glad the port thing is out of people’s minds so I can get back to parking truths |
