I’ll try to find it but I saw a statement made by a woman who was asked to be the Green Party VP candidate. She declined because apparently when she met with Stein and others, she wanted to confirm with them that if they were able to build up a large enough support base that would allow them to make demands on Harris (eg conditioning aid to Israel) they would drop out, but I guess the Green Party said they wouldn’t. |

this thread just isn’t the same without wild speculations.
Anyhow, all Harris has to do is win once, because, if she does, she’s all but guaranteed to get two terms. MAGA has been destroying the GOP’s state and local leadership across the country for eight years. Trump is running his campaign as lean and concentrated as possible so the next nominee has to almost start from scratch. Fundraising will be toast. There will be viable third party challenges in decades-long GOP strongholds (and defections to moderate Dem candidates). A decent number of popular establishment Republicans at the state and local level have already decided to jump ship.

Reminds me- a couple weeks ago a woman in my town who I know a bit from attending some pro Palestine events was organizing this small fair to raise money for mothers and kids in Gaza. She posted about it on this town parents fb page basically saying “not trying to make a political statement just want to raise money for kids”, and some lady wen't on this long tirade about how if she really cared about kids she would have made a statement about Hamas and hezbollah and how the whole thing was an anti semitic dog whistle, etc. Most people were telling her that she’s barking up the wrong tree but there was another dude in there posing all these insane hypotheticals like “what will you do if someone shows up with signs that say from the river to the sea?!l” like dude, we’re talking about an event with face painting and arts and crafts here. It’s just never enough for these people- Israel is allowed to do whatever they want with 0 consequences and if you speak up you get fired/expelled, but you’re not even allowed to acknowledge the people on the receiving end without them having a meltdown. It’s hard to wrap my head around the entitlement and victimhood sometimes. |
