As soon as all of this broke, my childhood best friend immediately texted me about how excited he was to see hannity's reaction. I hope he didn't disappoint.

So now they can take their time making the case as they can each impeach any time they want

Nothing is going to come of this. Political theater at its finest. Dems are running out of ammo.

The dude is a perpetual fuck up and liar. But you’re probably right that nothing will come of it, largely due to fuckwits like you.

I fail to see how this actually ends up going well for the dems. They have the votes in the house, but then it needs 2/3 in the senate. If I’m not mistaken McConnell can literally just not even bring it up for a vote. So unless I’m missing something it’s DOA to the senate and probably ends up backfiring against them like the Clinton one did on the Republicans. I would love to see it work, but I don’t see how, and see an easy way it end up making things a whole hell of a lot worse.

A blowjob isn’t an affront to the country. The shit Trump’s pulled is. I don’t believe the senate does shit, but I do believe there will be a slow walk of Republicans that come out against Trump on this. There kinda already is. I believe his base will dig in their heels, but I think others will see this for the fuckery it is. PS I am hammered and probably make little sense rn.

I believe his base will dig in their heels, but I think others will see this for the fuckery it is. PS I am hammered and probably make little sense rn. I think it's all pure speculation at this point. There was also a rush from "principled" Republicans to decry Donnie after the Access Hollywood tape, and we all know what happened with that. Aside from The Most Principled Man in America, Mitt Romney, I think it's reasonable to assume Senate Republicans will murmur some disapproving noises this week and then make "no quid pro quo" their rallying cry for the next year, assuming this doesn't all evaporate before December. Look, we all grew up thinking we were living in a world where showing people incontrovertible facts could make them change their minds. It turns out we are not living in that world, and people are coming to the ballgame with their scorecards already filled out, so to speak. Assuming impeachment happens, I have no earthly idea what happens or who it benefits. I don't buy the narrative that this is Trump playing 9D string theory chess, and I also don't buy the narrative that a Trump victory in 2020 is preordained. But I think it is plausible that this scandal simply makes the political divide even more tribal and extreme, and 2020 will basically be a census whose function is to count the proportion of authoritarian dum-dums in this country.

I definitely don’t disagree with the bulk of what you’re saying. But, in this moment, I’m a bit hopeful.
But I’m also drunk. So there is thatz

So there is thatz If it makes you feel any better, I at least don't see the logic in the arguments that this represents some kind of upside for Trump. If it ends up floundering, Trump is going to be super obnoxious about it and claim it's the greatest exoneration in history. But he already does that about basically everything, and I have a really hard time believing anybody besides a bunch of sunburned Facebook hillbillies will care. edit: my point is, people forget that although virtually all of the electorate is baked in and unpersuadable, that cuts both ways.

Just a note here. Nixon didnt get impeached for watergate. He got impeached for obstruction of justice, abuse of power, and contempt of Congress from that scandal. Seems like a coin toss if anything will come of this but its cool that the history books will say Trump was in the process of impeachment which must be a blow to that fragile ego

Not a good morning for Trump. People in the Whitehouse snitched and it sounds like there was a deliberate coverup.
