Any sort of heavy-handed socialist coalition would fail miserably in the U.S. as it is today. But this situation is not hopeless! You would definitely need to create a situation where that wouldn’t be the case.

How? Deliberatelt reducing the number of pointless obstructionist teeny tiny local governments and curtailing the immense power wielded by the petit bourgeois through neighborhood associations and similar elements of civil society. The tiny congressional districts can’t have the insane amount of power they do in the House. The suburbs need to be densified and urbanized. Eliminate blanket free parking policy and parking mandates and throw the revenues at pedestrianization and public transit. Investment in workforce development needs to triple. The lack of any cap on a person’s investment in higher education has to be addressed, because of the immense expense of funding higher ed through student loan credits — Direct state and federal funding has to increase beyond pre-Nixon levels. The ability of workers to organize has to be made easier. The massive number of obstacles the “middle class” has erected to curtail the upward mobility of the poor should be systematically eliminated.

All unpopular ideas, but with a willingness to lie, cheat, steal, and engage in a little corruption I think it’s feasible!

We've got scads of "local governments" that serve no other purpose but tax evasion, the blocking of multifamily dwellings, and the deliberate calculated obstruction of the kind of large-scale ambitious public works projects we actually need.

family is definitely weird.  definitely some sort of cult vibes especially how large the dupree extended family is where they live.  i dont follow them on IG anymore.  had the biggest crush on chauntelle out of all of the sisters but her loving ben carson was mad weird years ago haha. room noises/combinations/the valley are still in heavy rotation for me.
