i stand by the idea that if progressives interested in moving to portland had read up on the history of Oregon most of them never would have set foot over the border. that entire state was built on white supremacy.

Hahaha I guess then the joke would be on me and it would make me the manspainer. People are allowed to be critical of feminism, and should be, but those criticisms should be about how it can be made better. Some of the best transformations of feminism have been a result of other feminists being critical of the state of feminism. I.e. including women of color in the fight for suffrage, shifting from protective rights to equal rights (though, I think this debate needs to happen again and be reconsidered), the inclusion of trans women, etc. Love youuuuu New board, who dis?

So admit feminism (as you see it) is purely an ideological movement, and not a true humanist movement. ofc feminism is an ideological movement!! the goal of feminism is not 'all women should do whatever makes them feel good,' it's bringing an end to structural gender hierarchy. there are all sorts of disagreements about how to achieve that goal (as with any movement), but that is its central organizing principle. it's not hard to recognize that some women (i.e. women on the right, women who are anti-abortion, etc.) choose to stand in opposition to this ideology, which would obviously position them outside the movement. being a woman does not automatically mean anything you do or say is inherently feminist. this is pretty simple stuff. positioning terfs as "having issues with the current wave of feminism" means you either have no idea what you're talking about, or you're being intentionally disingenuous. terfs are a classic vocal minority whose central belief is a virulent hatred towards an entire population of women already disproportionately affected by violence, abuse, poverty, police, etc. trans women are not an ideology, they are a demographic. terfs have shown their true colors again and again by collaborating with far-right and fundamentalist groups, influencing anti-trans legislation, intentionally spreading blatant lies and misinformation, and even shit as low as outing trans youth to their parents. if they have an issue with the current wave of feminism, it's that it's leaving them behind because most feminists realize terfs are a glorified hate group who care less about women's liberation than they do about preventing trans women from existing. anyway, it's fun to back

So many Australian's here laugh at Trump and what has happened in America.
We have the exact same leader in power, tearing families apart and killing innocent people in the name of "stronger borders".

Didn’t Steven Mnuchin just call this “Fake News” and say that it was an exaggeration Trump wanted to get out of the WTO? How do these people keep up with all of the lies?

Spread misinformation, wait for opposition reaction, discredit sources by accusing them of spreading misinformation, confuse the narrative.
Lather, rinse, repeat.

Yep. And the media helps push every single thing right along. Our existence is basically collective ADD at this point.

No, reports of leaving were fake news. It's more effective to stay in as the U.S. has pretty much full authority of the WTO. Congress most likely won't deliver on this but who knows anymore. He can do everything he wants to do and this is mostly about solidifying more authority with a shitty veneer of consent of the public.

1) issue unconstitutional executive order 2) wait for it to get blocked by a lower court 3) let it work its way up to the SC 4) gets rubber stamped by 5, soon to be 6, bootlicking scumfucks 5) its now law until congress overrides it (ie: never)

Wait for Trump to start fucking things up and hurting his base in the wallet more. When he starts tossing more blame on GOP establishment we're going to get fascists running for office. We already an uncomfortable amount in 2018.

First and foremost - Fuck Trump.
Enjoy the next few years while you can. I fully expect for us to be knee deep in shit within a decade .
We're essentially at war with Journalism, Putting Corporations ahead of people in the name of "making things great again", We're more pleasant with long term enemies while pissing on our long term allies.
I feel like it's a smash and grab. I feel Trump is successfully breaking our country systematically and he's creating a cult like following. I live in California and we're much more progressive but Ive done some traveling in the Bible belt area for work over the last few months and it legitimately felt like a different country.
Anyway, hello.

We already an uncomfortable amount in 2018. It's going to be interesting to see where the corporate money goes if he continues down the anti-trade path. I'm not optimistic but I would love to see him destroy the GOP alliance between bumpkins and the see-no-evil business types who bankroll this stupidity.

my tin foil on Trump's recent sucking up to mormons (Mike Lee, Romney, pollution easements for LDS owned oil companies, Bears Ears, etc):
there is a sizable contingent of mormons within federal law enforcement agencies, one might accurately call it a cabal, and they made overtures to Donald to help derail the Mueller investigation in exchange for a butt load of kick backs to their church owned businesses and increased clout for their anti-progressive agenda.
