The general sense I get from people who still bring up October 7th is that there's "just so much going on in the world" and they can't be bothered to inform themselves about it. Between "the economy" and the holidays and Ukraine and now this in the Middle East, they can only be SO bothered.

I truly don't think there is a single valid argument that what Israel is doing is justified or even what they claim to be doing. No one who has paid attention or has any critical thinking skills truly thinks Israel is bombing Gaza to get at Hamas. They are very VERY clearly razing it to get rid of Palestinians there and make way for new development. The problem is how powerless we are to stop it. The amount of pressure from the left to cease funding Israel's war machine must be immense on the Biden administration, and we've seen them cave to pressure on other issues, but the forces at play on the other "side" of this issue have to be great for them to completely ignore it and not even offer the usual platitudes you would expect when an ally is committing atrocities.

I used to agree that Trump is objectively worse because of his populist fanboys, but it's getting to a point with Biden where he isn't even listening to his voters at all. They're silencing dissenters within the DNC and telling us we have to vote for their candidates no matter what or else it'll just get worse. Our country has no left wing and the only difference between Biden and Trump is the fear that our proto-authoritarian government will finally affect you instead of just minorities.
