Look at which demographics have the highest rates of infant mortality and the causes of infant mortality. Where do they live? They tend to live in areas that are disproportionately burdened by air pollution and particulate matter. The greatest source of this is private cars on highways. Which political parties have acknowledged this and promoted corrective policies? Which laws cover this?
Not saying it’s enough, not saying there aren’t Kafka-esque bureaucratic nightmares involved in addressing the issues, not denying war-mongering, not saying there aren’t problems that are inherent to the U.S. political system specifically or capitalism as a whole. Just pointing out meaningful, substantive differences. I don’t think Biden is a “good” president and I don’t think the Democratic Party is “good” and I think there is an obvious limit to what can be accomplished without massive, massive changes in the nature of the U.S. political system (or the end of the U.S. empire altogether).

Reasonable as always. What possible reason could you have for this take? You're pro wars of conquest when the victims are whites? Joe Biden is literally trying to give Ukraine 7% of the USA’s non-defense budget because Zelenskyy is a panhandling bitch. We live in a failed fucking state. Go drink some Chardonnay. It's because your dumb country wanted to play world police after the fall of communism and made Ukraine give up its nukes in order for guarantees of protection. Fucking learn some historical context for once in your life man.

to be fair, Biden's whole campaign right now is "yeah I suck but what about trump?".... not a far cry from what's been posted here I think we can all acknowledge that there's a difference between a campaign and a presidency. Campaigns are about breaking through to millions of people who don't give politics a second thought. Some people respond to policies, some people respond to calls to emotion etc. Campaigning as an alternative to Trump was extremely effective and essentially gave Biden the win. Why? Because that appealed to the majority of people who don't have a political ideology. There's no reason they wouldn't return to it. Do I want to see substantive policy proposals? Of course. Do I also know that the President doesn't legislate? Of course. Do I also know a Trump presidency would lead to a massive increase of violence against people I care about? Should we stop him at any cost? Are there levers of power I can pull that are not just "voting for a president?" Of course. I don't think those are mutually exclusive things. I also want to make clear I don't support Biden's position in Israel and to the extent I have any voice or power I've made that clear. But there is still a bafflingly large section of the population who think criticism of Israel is tantamount to being a Nazi. Biden is playing politics. It's as simple as that. It's political suicide to cease funding to Israel. There's no other motive.

James wants a US Dictatorship so bad. I want the neoliberal establishment to be destroyed so we can have a left wing party in this bullshit country. You can’t even explain what neoliberalism is. Moreover, if the Democratic Party imploded tomorrow, a more left wing party would not take its place. If anything, it’d be a party farther to the right.

I don’t know, I heard it was a development in neoclassical economic theory after they failed to find an adequate explanation post-WWII recovery in war torn nations, leading to the development of the concept of human capital.
