I'm not gonna talk shit on people doing action, but I just can't see a world where the US(or even Canada) would become communist. We've had this rugged individualism shoved down our throats for too long, people want their personal freedoms even if it's mostly bullshit.

We might not win this one or even the next one but what this does is create a foundation and a network for third party campaigns in general, and is the best strategic way to reach politically motivated people in a country where the populace is so propagandized that they believe there is only one way to engage in politics.
No one is under any delusion that we can vote capital away, but we can raise awareness. A revolution is possible if, not a majority of people, but a large plurality of people in industrial cores can come together and coordinate it. Political campaigns are just one way to get these people together.
What Bernie did in '16 and '20 brought millions and millions of people interested in socialism together. People in this country only pay attention to politics every four years. Therefore, it's a wasted opportunity not to campaign and to draw people in during elections.
We could very well run and win in local campaigns. But we must first lay the framework and cut our teeth on this campaign.

I know someone who ran for the communist party in Canada too, and basically said being able to talk to people about communism in their homes and lay the groundwork means more than any electoral result will. But the problem up here is the CPC basically operates to collect membership fees, sounds like PSL is a lot more on the ground and doing action. Even if I don't really believe in communism so I wouldn't join a group, more power to anyone who does it. Anything out of capitalism and I'm good with it really lol. I just again fail to see it happen here, especially when thousands of people migrate here every week for purely capitalist reason. |

I’m not doing my part tbh but I can say that I don’t understand what pat’s point with the whole “employee-owned” business thing is supposed to be. And at a certain point if your business is still “employee-owned” it’s because it isn’t good enough for someone to want to buy it.
