while there's truth to the statement that a lot of seemingly left issues have been paved over by more popular buzz-word type sloganeering, that is mostly true for pretty much only the most vocal and conspicuous of left-pandering liberals (i.e. celebrities etc) who were never at any point genuinely involved in or much interested in leftist causes. When have celebrities, the media, or any kind of large popular zeitgeist ever involved with genuine left wing issues? Some visible individuals and groups who benefit from successful marketing aren't suddenly erasing decades of political thought and action.
"What happened to leftists?? They've replaced class war with X war" is some kinda gotcha statement propagated from right-wing social media and classical statue avatar guy youtubes. There's just enough superficial truthiness to it for it to sound reasonable but it's devoid of much substance beyond that. Those people also don't care about "class war" and never listened or cared if/when the supposed "real leftists (which have been replaced)" ever had a modicum of visibility.
Plenty of criticisms of the left, but something that seems to have come from the mouth of "Remember When Movies Were Good" or "See Through The Lies" @ twitter . cum or some dumb shit like that jut don't land mate.
