For a dysfunctional party, the DNC’s reclamation of what have been right wing tropes since 2016, flipping them on their head, and reanimating them as banners for a coalition of Democratic voters has been pretty fucking masterful. Obviously I’m groaning when I see cops and shit at these events, but if I separate myself from what I think is hard-rocking, I can appreciate the calculation and implementation.

Yeah I think objectively speaking it’s just been pretty shocking how competent they’ve turned the past few weeks. They wen't from eternally putting the stick in their own bicycle spokes to actually seemingly coming together and making palpable momentum to the general public. I would never have guessed they’d dump Joe, never would have guessed they’d find successful combative messaging with the “weird” thing, never thought they’d pick Walz over Shapiro, etc. Obvious leftist gripes aside, it’s just weird to see them on a streak of not punching themselves in their own dick/vagina for the what feels like the first time in forever. At least that’s how it appears, which I guess is 90% of a campaign anyway. |
