It’s not about Harris winning Iowa, she likely won’t. It’s that Iowa is a bellwether for demographic shifts and have historically indicated how things will go in states like Wisconsin and Michigan, and hopefully PA, which Kamala needs. Pollsters notoriously write off the Slipknot vote. It's hard to answer the phone with those masks on. Just as the Michigan polls margin of error doesn't factor in the slippery nature of Juggalo face paint. Hard to get accurate polling info over the sound of scratching turntables and a metal bat smashing a keg. |

This used to be Dumpsville for our valley but now it’s considered pretty desirable, albeit not fancy like Whitefish or Bigfork. We’re lucky we got into our house mere months before Covid. But just to refute your very hurtful barbs, for the first time we can’t cover our bills this month. Our second kid is starting daycare this upcoming week and my wife is just going back to work, after not collecting a paycheck for two months. On top of the baby hospital bills we’ve charged to credit or haven’t paid, we’re fucked. So her parents are gonna give us a few thousand I think. |

In Ellensburg, WA circa 2009 or 2010 at a gas station they had Obama Bucks at the register. In Darby, MT circa 2018, the town candy store/antiques and kitsch shop was selling cast iron piggy bank “Jolly N.igger Banks.” Literally said n.igger on it, in big letters on the back. Looked into it and they were old relics of 1800s or early 1900s America, but they’d been recommissioned during Obama years, switching n.igger for Obama (Jolly Obama Bank). But this one wasn’t an old artifact, it was new as well, so someone had made ones that specifically said n.igger instead of Obama, then racist shop owners in the know ordered them online for their stores. It's wonk or whatever but I was fascinated by how the IRA hasn't been championed by the administration when there were dozens of pull quotes and stories of Republican mayors getting infrastructure money, investment for green jobs, etc.
They would immediately get called RINOs if you brought that up but Biden actually did what Trump promised...
Naturally those policies take time but the only take away from that reality wipes away any pretense of immediate economic anxiety amongst his base. It was a complete waste of time hearing their grievances as it's all on the table now.
It's all culture war and none of that ever really mattered to them.
