Harris won Guam but it was a 10 point swing in Trumps favor.

Voting straight D means you didn't write in Sofia for the local safe seat. I guess trans bigotry is alive and well.

I hope they throw a huge party there and then sell it before the property taxes come due.

Harris won Guam but it was a 10 point swing in Trumps favor. Do troops stationed there use absentee/mail in ballots registered to their US residence, or does Guam become their primary residence? I wonder if the swing is from more troops deciding to vote. Can’t imagine many residents of Guam outside of the military voting for trump

I think overseas ballots get counted separate, and most haven't been counted yet. Could be wrong tho.

2 conservative scotus ghouls are set to retire soon so another GOP victory locks us in that majority the rest of our lives.

Most people stationed in Guam aren't permanent residents so they would have voted in their state of residence by UOCAVA.

I want to know who the swing voter was in Dixville Notch. Did a minority move in 50 miles away?

The overarching 2024 GOP presidential platform goal is the aggressive dismantling of the post-Depression, post-WWII Republic. When it comes to how and why the federal government intervenes in the economy, it should primarily focus on cultural issues (capitalists can do as they wish, but they cannot promote "moral degeneracy" or undermine cultural norms). So, the nuclear family and its forms of leisure is what the government is primarily interested in intervening to support. The state over the last 80 years has been used to actively promote democratic participation, individual self-fulfillment, workforce development, education, to acknowledge the grievances and concerns of minority populations or historically disadvantaged people in collaboration with corporations and other institutions. No matter what Conservatives do, this just keeps getting worse and worse. And that is all very bad, because it made more single mothers and gay people and an unsustainable multicultural landscape.

I mean, the fundamental push of Conservatives when you strip the BS away is, "we liked things during hypothetical back in the day, and we have to do everything possible to return to hypothetical back in day." How anybody thinks that's a viable strategy to win a national majority is... sorta baffling, which probably speaks to why they've only won 30% of the popular vote during POTUS elections in my lifetime. Continuing to do stuff simply because it's easy/comfortable/traditional is contrary to the virtues these same losers use to prop up the patriotic godliness of the US. We decided Kray supercomputers required massive amounts of space and energy to operate, so we evolved our technology with an eye toward economy + efficiency. We weren't happy with child mortality rates in this country, so we evolved and began mandatory inoculations for school kids. We recognized we were stronger during/after WWII as a united front with other countries... we evolved, the UN was formed, and our nation was stronger for it. Somewhere along the way "accountability for shortcomings" and "willingness to improve" became demonstrated weakness to Republicans. You can thank the head of the snake and his affinity for strongmen for that. Like, if it's literally just about having a tradwife and 2.5 kids or whatever, folks can still do that... it doesn't have to be at the expense of trans kids' safety or a woman's right to choose to do it.

Some consulates/embassies offer collection points but they are slow and often unreliable for normal us citizens abroad.

And that’s why the Conservative mindset will always land in the wrong, afaic. I don’t need to stomp all over other peoples rights/freedoms to vote for predominantly liberal causes.

I'm glad everyone in the thread was able to come together to cast a vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, and a straight ticket vote for Democrats up and down the ballot! While we have our differences, I love and somewhat respect all of you. I have it on good authority that solidsnake punched it in for Harris but voted R down ballot Bitch please, I don’t live in New England. Zinke ain’t getting a vote from me. Shady Sheehy ain’t fit to lap up my cummy bath water. The republicans in my state are the worst of the lot, excluding the south east. (Forever fuck body slamming Gianforte, but he’s been okay-ish as gov. No way I ever vote for a dude who attacks a reporter and lies about it though. And we’ve had cool-ish dem governors that are more moderate like me anyway, so never reason to cross over.)
