They have elections every five years. In fact, recently Kim Jong Un's power has been limited. In the 2019 amendment the Chairman of the State Affairs Commission -- Kim Jong Un's position cannot stand as a candidate for election as a deputy to the Supreme People's Assembly. Their government is much more fluid than what we're used to. Kim Jong Un is the head of the party, not the head of government, with a whole set of different functions than what you might expect. Skim the constitution. Unless you think they just don't obey their own constitution for some unsourced reason. The party itself is in charge of the military, for obvious anti-imperialist reasons. Otherwise, in government they have a social-democratic party, the Korean Worker's Party and the Chondoist Chongu Party which all constitute part of the Supreme People's Assembly -- they meet a few times a year. When the People's Assembly is in recess they have a legislative Presidium the rest of the time.

I honestly think it'd be an even bigger shitshow.

But I've read for years about how bad batteries in hybrids are for environment, and solar panels etc. Does it bring up nuclear at all? Cause from what I've read its are only way out of climate change problem until green tech comes along. |
