Shut it down, he’s on to us! One of the best comic book artists ever, Bill Sinkevitch, challenged him to a charity drawing contest and he chickened out. Dying rn at you spelling it how its said rather than Sienkiewicz (which I had to google and copy/paste)

He would tell us not to vote Carlin is not as progressive, much less radical, as you think he is He was a nihilist and a observer of human idiocy but watch his routine on criminals in the Reagan administration and Republican hypocrisy and it would easily apply today. He often said the last time he voted it was for McGovern and because of that loss he lost faith in the system. He had a few wrong takes on vaccines and global warming (which he didn't disagree with, he just thought humans weren't that important) but other than that his social commentary was usually aimed at religious hypocrites, rich land developers, and the elite. Watch his interviews with Olbermann from a decade back, he was ideologically very progressive, he just didn't have faith in the system.

"Giving meow $100" is totally entering my new board vernacular from here on out.
"Swear to god, about ready to give meow $100."

If that's the case, we pooled together for Hellboi's title for a steal.
Also no way in hell would Carlin vote for Trump.

The funding was frozen because Beijing imposed sanctions. The article goes on to continue to talk about the NED paying out.

I'm not clear on what your point is anyway, honestly. Clearly the US government supports the protests, financially or otherwise. Clearly a significant portion of Hong Kongers support them as well, as shown by the size of the protests and the outcome of the council elections.

my problem is with the dumb clickbaity title
what was "exposed" was not funding, it was attempted funding? Intended funding? Aborted funding?
those earlier disbursements are a matter of public record and hardly constitute an "expose"

And yeah the title is totally misleading. I get the sense this was yet another "source" our Marxist friends didn't read.

I don't even know where to start with this. This poll was conducted exclusively with anti-government protestors, 80% of whom support One Country, Two Systems (presumably as promised in 1997), the other 20% supporting full independence. I would guess close to 0% of those polled would support the new security law, but as it stands they were not asked about that because this article is from January. All of this you would have known had you, you know, read the article

The protests weren't primarily about independence. Also, does public apinion matter now? Remind me what percentage of the vote Xi won?

I would also guess you don't reserve the same animus towards the SCMP as you do publications like the WaPo, although they are both owned by evil billionaire tech company ghouls. Which is strange since you're always the first one to discredit a source based on what you perceive to be a conflict of interest

and yes, since it was a poll literally exclusively of protestors, I think 0% is a pretty good guess
