Going to Europe for 3 weeks at the end of February to mid-March. Other than flying into and home from Paris we don't have any route planned.
I was thinking France + Spain but if anyone has suggestions on where to go and things to see/do it would be much appreciated!

Going to Greece this summer with my in-laws. Any off-beat fun things to do around Athens and the islands--particularly things I can do on my own when I need to separate myself? haha

San Sebastian is beautiful and picturesque, whereas Bilbao is just a cool city. Some of the best food in the world too if you eat meat. Galicia is really cool too and close to Portugal as well, but it's not as populated and you'll definitely come across ghost towns, so depending on what you're looking for you'll get a unique experience either way. Plenty of soccer matches you can go too during that time of the year too.

Yeah dude Northern Spain is so cool. I've actually never even been to Barcelona(trip fell through both times so I'm just cursed there) and Madrid never really interested me. But those areas just have such a distinctive culture and history, and yeah the people are so real haha.
Not to mention it's super cheap. Spent a weekend near the Roman baths in Galicia once, the price of food/hotels/petrol was under €100 for the weekend. Galician beer rules too and is usually over 6%.

Got most of the big tourist stuff covered but if anyone has any good suggestions for bars, restaurants, record stores or any off the beaten path type shit lemme know The "hip" neighborhoods in each of these cities will have plenty of good stuff. For Stockholm go to Södermalm, Copenhagen go to Nørrebro and Vesterbro, and in Berlin go to Kreuzberg.
Depending on how you want your night to go, either start or finish your night in Kreuzberg at Franken Bar. I wen't in there at like 8pm, and there were 2 patrons--me and a dude literally passed out sleeping with his head on the bar. The bartender was playing Vulgar Display of Power straight through so loud, I almost had to plug my ears. Bartender was also just downing shots--they have a Berliner shot which if I remember correctly is just vodka and a couple dashes of hot sauce.

I have a two day trip to Chicago starting tomorrow... if the snow is light enough to make it in that is. Plans include:
Thin crust tavern style pizza (Rosati's was the recommendation but with Lou's and Portillo's so close to the hotel it'l most likely be one/both of those) Three Dots and a Dash (one block from hotel. VERY dangerous) Logan Arcade Possibly Museum of Post Punk & Industrial Music (buddy I'll be with is a MASSIVE Wax Trax fan)

Just got back from Florida yesterday and it sucked as much as the last time.
Have a 5p flight to Eureka (northern ca) to see my parents today and coming back Sunday.
Then potentially (hopefully not) back to Florida on Monday.
I’m tired.

Go with Rosatis for the tavern style. Lou's is more for your deep dish needs. Don't let anyone coerce you into the cake shake at portillos, it's not worth the effort. Too bad you didn't come in a day earlier. My guy Mike at Meteor Gem is having a listening party tonight for the new Hold My Own record. Should be a time.

Planning a trip to Ireland in September with my sister. Open to all recommendations. Wouldn't spend more than 2 days in Dublin. Galway and Cork are dope. I never got used to driving on the left side of the road, but the road trips were beautiful.

Planning a trip to Ireland in September with my sister. Open to all recommendations. Ring of Kerry for sure - extremely scenic. I liked towns like Sligo and Limerick a lot but it was just a vibes thing, felt like what I always thought Ireland would feel like whereas Dublin and Galway were way more hype. Didn’t make it as far south as Cork but it’s high on my list for next time if I make it over there again.

If you're spending say a week in Ireland, I'd probably spend 2 nights in Dublin, 2 nights in Galway or Cork, then 2 nights in Dingle or Kerry. Will give you the best feel for the country and give you a bit of variety too.
Dublin is fun and there's plenty to do, but don't concentrate your trip on there too because you'll get it all done in 2/3 days. Going up north to Belfast or Derry is very cool too.

Any cool book stores or record shops are always a plus. there is a cluster of record and book shops around Temple Bar in Dublin but i don't know if any of them are really that cool... but Dublin has so many museums, it's kinda ridiculous the National Museum archaeology wing is very cool and free entry, and you can see the Book of Kells at Trinity library nearby if you're interested in the irish revolution check out the GPO museum and Kilmhainam Gaol, or take a walking tour with this maniac (https://www.1916rising.com/cms/details-map/) an hour north of Dublin there's Bru na Boinne, which is a pretty mindblowing neolithic ceremonial tomb that you can go inside and many more... but like they already said, get out west to Galway/Ring of Kerry, especially since the weather should be good in September - it's all pubs and castles and beautiful sights out there you could see the cliffs at Doolin or take a boat to the Aran islands, and Killarney national park looks great but i haven't made it there yet

I’m going to the Bay Area for work in March. Anything cool to do in Santa Clara specifically? I’ll be staying there for a few days before going to SF. How about SF recommendations?

Santa Clara is pretty blah. There's some stuff to do if you're near a Caltrain and can get down to San Jose. Get burritos with orange sauce from one of the La Victoria or Iguana's locations.
There are a million things to do in SF--go to SF MOMA?

Planning a trip to Ireland in September with my sister. Open to all recommendations. Reiterating other posts, I lucked into an opportunity to do the Ring of Kerry and no hyperbole (okay maybe a lil) it was beautiful and breathtaking beyond compare. Will give you clear understanding of why its called the Emerald Isle and how all the mythmaking / fantastical stuff originated. Cork was my fave city (Dublin / Galway). Enjoyed how each city was split perfectly by a river, easy to centralize yourself (I do tons of walking). Dublin's sense of modern history (1800-now) is palpable but Galway and Cork are also old as hell and contain awesome historical aspects. There are lots of days trips, Blarney Castle is busy but well worth a long afternoon. Moher Cliffs are dope. Trinity College was my favorite "place". I spent a few afternoons leisuring on the lawn hehe.

Santa Clara is pretty tame but hit up Voyager coffee, Su's Mongolian BBQ. Hit up San Jose if you can. Academic Coffee is good. Don't let people convince you to go to La Victoria for food. The only good thing there is their orange sauce. There's a spot called Angelous, similar orange sauce, better food. What kind of things/places are you looking to do/hit up?
