I usually just keep it on in the background. It's not a real game but I'll zone in and out of it. It's not the best form of basketball but all the articles today that frame it as an affront to the country as a whole are hilarious.

why not just do it before nba finals? if theyre all gonna dick around I think everyone likes it as an easy break for everyone not playing. Since you'd have to build some kind of break into the schedule if you did it like the pro bowl. |

Last time I watched anything all star related was when they made Blake Griffin jump over the Kia. Genuinely can't remember the last time I watched the actual game, but it all just feels like you're watching the circus.

Maybe if they did a US VS the world format for the asg it might bring a bit of bite, but I still wouldn't watch more than a few minutes of it lol.

Silver ain't changing shit, the all star game does its job. The creme players come in and do press work, the chaff get the week off, the press sells it as a circus and socials engage on both sides of highlights and hand wringing.
Baseball is prolly the only game that lends itself to an all star exhibition, only bc of how low impact it can be. Football, futbol, hockey and basketball all suck. Basically universal access to games killed any real interest in all star games and they're only job now is to keep the brands in the news cycle
