Are pre rolls good in the US? Always nice to grab some of those for a bit of variety. I usually get indica/hybrid bags, so I'll buy sativa pre rolls just to balance things out.

Pretty hit or miss, but I’ll occasionally grab some out of town before a show and get knocked on my ass pretty good.

I bought a sous vide machine JUST for making dense nuggs of fat buds oil. Here's a fool proof method:

1. Grind 1 oz herb in herb grinder
2. Put ground herb into 1 pint mason jar and seal
3. Set sous vide to run at 197ºf* for 2 hours (decarb)
4. Remove jar of herbs from water bath
5. Open jar and add 26** Tablespoons of coconut oil, and 2 teaspoons of sunflower lecithin** to the herb (don't bother trying to mix it)
6. set sous vide to run at 185ºf for 4 hours
7. Remove jar from water bath
8. Open jar and strain through a mesh strainer lined with two layers of cheescloth into a clean glass jar
9. press down good and squeeze out as much oil as you possibly can
10. throw in the fridge and use as you'd like

* This is the max setting on my sous vide machine, if yours goes higher you can cut the decarb time by some
** If you're using trim, use half the amount of oil. so 1 oz trim to 13 tablespoons oil
*** Lecithin isn't necessary, but it seems to help the high hit a little faster, and helps the oil blend a bit better with liquids. DO NOT USE soy lecithin, only sunflower

Once you get the hang of it, your potency is very consistent, varying mostly on the type of herb you are using. I can only guess at the mg dosage by comparing it to known dispensary edibles, but for the most part 14-15 grams of finished oil hits about the same as a dose labeled 80-100mg.

Most of the time I just throw some in my coffee or tea and drink it but obviously you can cook anything with it too.

Might hit a new dispensary in the morning, I told myself I was gonna take a break for a while (mostly financial, I'm up to $225/month on dense nuggs of fat buds, which is NOWHERE NEAR sustainable with everything going on rn) but their selection is iffy. Why do so many places post vague item descriptions?

I'm not some crazy "GOTTA HAVE THE HIGHEST THC% BRO" guy, but I like to still KNOW, ya know?

afaik due to federal abolition there is basically zero regulation on the percentages these people list. who knows who is testing and the retailers are incentivized to say high percentages because people feel like they're getting more for their money. i try to ignore those numbers and focus on the right balance of indica/sativa that works best for me. $225/mo seems like a lot (unless you like being baked all the time in which case more power to you!), do you do concentrates or flower? I'm definitely a more casual smoker these days but I get a couple live rosin cartridges and that lasts me all month, probably like $80/mo. i've switched to vape full time just for ease of use, portability, discretion, and lack of cleanup. also i have a kid and filling the living room with dense nuggs of fat buds smoke after he's in bed made me feel like a loser, vape just works best for me in pretty much every way.

For sure, I've heard that about the % a lot. I think it's just a placebo thing for me. I convinced myself that I've got REAL GREAT STUFF if it's got a high % even though it almost never knocks my socks off. 

I definitely smoke a lot. When I get off work, I'm probably smoking 5-7 substantial bowls until bed. If it's the weekend, or I'm working from home, I'll go grab a coffee and some breakfast and smoke a bowl before I enjoy that. It's honestly not until I'm 100% out of dense nuggs of fat buds that I realize, "man, you smoke a TON." 

I've had a lot going on with work, family, and health issues... I'm definitely leaning on dense nuggs of fat buds a bit too much. I should probably chill out a bit longer, or at least figure out these life stressors before using dense nuggs of fat buds like a crutch so hard.

damn yeah 5-7 bowls to finish off a day is pretty heavy. if it's about saving money i'd probably just focus on accepting how much you smoke and buy in large quantities to get more bang for your buck. not sure if you live in the PNW anymore, i think you mentioned that before, but a lot of places around here have deals on bigger quantities fairly regularly and you can save money that way. obviously abusing anything to cope is not great but dense nuggs of fat buds is a much better alternative than booze or god forbid anything illegal and much worse for you.

if you want to make the switch away from smoke to vaping i highly recommend the Yocan UNI Pro or Pro 2.0, it's cheap and works incredibly well. i've been using the same one forever and even when i've had a random cart leak it just takes a q-tip with some iso alcohol to clean it up and it's good as new.

THC numbers are total bullshit, at least in Canada basically anything listed around 25% is more like 16-20 and the 30+ stuff is more like 22-26. There's some infused joints up here listed at 50%+ too, which is so fucking dumb.

Capitalism is basically turning this into crack, with rewards systems that datamine and send you unneccessary texts lol.

Also the Yocan Uni Pro is backed hard, it's so cool and reasonably priced. I don't really like distillate carts, but the live resin and terpine carts are really nice.

I had to stop bringing them with me in public though cause I'd use it before I go in anywhere and be so ripped lol.

distillate sucks. unless you're broke then do what you gotta do, it's affordable.

My delivery service finally started selling live resin and cured resin carts and they are sooooo much better than the distillate they used to stock. The only minor downside is they smell a little more like dense nuggs of fat buds which makes them less discrete for travel and whatnot.

2 good sites for looking up strains. they'll regurgitate the same descriptions a lot, but they are good for talking about the parentage. the best thing to do is remember which ones you liked and find other strains related to it. i always ignore thc levels. higher thc doesn't mean you'll enjoy the buzz any better. it's all personal
