So, 18 years ago I sold my OG Negative Approach 7" for what I thought was big money at the time ($140) and I was content with the Total Recall CD, as the vinyl was all OOP. A while later, after NA came back, The 7" got repressed with the most atrocious art ever. I started buy records again last year and found I was WAY priced out of ever owning any of the original Dischord, Xclaim or Touch and Go stuff I used to have. I bought the NA repress and hated to look at it. I reached out on FB and my muchacho Kyle hooked me up with scans of his cover, so I made my own. I saw your IG story that ended with you tossing the reissue cover in the trash and def had a chuckle. |

Don't know yet - I'm lacking a functional receiver. lol @ me The main guy who runs the shop, however, said it sounds better than some of the originals he's heard and I have no reason not to trust him. Known the guy for fifteen years and he's always been more than honest, fair, and accurate in business dealing. They have I think three copies left and they're all only $22. I think they're available via their website, too? Just google "Torn Light Records". I'd find it now, but my brain is fried rn. Btw @condordave can also attest to how legit that store is. That record is a must own, glad you snagged a decent sounding copy. I picked up a Plain Recordings pressing off Discogs a few years ago and I've been beyond pleased with that purchase ever since. |

But I will say a decent chunk of my collection came from them. It’s pretty funny though because all of the stuff some might deem sketchy is still on their site. |

Yeah, I'll agree with you on that... they shrunk the metal vinyl selection ridiculously and all the CD's and tapes in it are just... not interesting??? I mainly just buy grindcore vinyl and used CD's of various stuff. But obvs not metal, fucking woof... Dan told me that he thinks people only pre-order metal vinyl direct from labels now. He's not entirely wrong, but like... people are always buying metal. And the stuff they were carrying was mostly shit whose target market mostly buys things via pre-order. They were focusing on the wrong stuff. And their tape selection for metal is generally bad, too. If I wanted (or have the energy to), I could probably fix their metal section overnight, but I injured my back so badly working at a record store eight years ago that I sometimes have to use a cane to get around. It's literally on the same block I live on, though, so if they don't mind the fact that I basically can't carry things, I could order shit people actually want and keep it in stock. And more metalheads would come through simply because of my rep. If Alex or Dan express frustration with metal sales to me again, I might ask if they'd like some help for just a store discount or credit. I do really need something to do outside of my apartment...
Btw by sketchy stuff on their site, do you mean power electronics, black metal, or both?

That LFD sounds better than their studio recordings. They also have a split live LP with Chokehold. It's worth tracking down.
I received the new Constant Elevation and Winds Of Promise records. They're not good. I also received Integrity - Palm Sunday and that's great minus Dwid's cringy banter.
