Hoping to replace my Miccas sometime soon. I never really liked them that much, but I only had an assortment of dud thrifted speakers I couldn't afford to get repaired at the time so I picked up what was the most highly regarded new cheap bookshelf speaker. I don't know what is even really wrong with them other than that they just sound really bland with LPs and tapes.
I helped my mom pick out some Polk Monitor 5 or 5b (forget which) the other year and they sounded excellent to my ears for the price, so I'm leaning to getting some of my own. I dunno if there's any hifi nerds here but I assume there are. Any suggestions? My reciever is a Pioneer SX-636 I bought in high school that I've slowly had repaired over the past 10+ years, and it's perfect (25WPC has never been any where near insufficient, doesn't get too hot or anything like that).

I currently have my receiver/turntable and two 3โ tall standing wired speakers on one side of my house. I want to get a switch system and add like 1-2 more โzonesโ to the house in other rooms so I can play music one, several, or all rooms at once. Iโm planning on doing it wired of course and just running it through the basement etc. Iโm mostly an idiot with this stuff and got it set up right like 8 years ago and purged my brain of what I learned since then.
Dumb question: Will there be any issue running a much longer pair or two of speaker wire through the house than the main zoneโs speaker wire (only like 3โ of wire)? I feel like I remember something I read about it messing with either the sound quality or a delay or something etc. I just donโt wanna run like 80โ of speaker wire through my house and then it be like off time with itself or sound like shit or something

I wired a three story house back in the day with cabinet speakers on each floor and I definitely noticed power loss in the basement which was farthest away from the amp/receiver so you had to really crank it and also remember it was cranked when you hit that switch to the main floor
I had a buddy that was into car audio that said something like I would need some kind of relay or higher wattage receiver but I never tried it/he mightโve been full of shit anyway
