I do this as part of my import process and I have probably wasted a full 24 hour day of my life doing this over the past 20 years. |

is paramore even a subculture though?? i thought the were basically mainstream pop rock You could make an argument for everything before the "comeback" record being part of a subculture. Since they pivoted hard into the Talking Heads stuff it's way more pop radio than Warped Tour pop punk now. no no no no, they emerged in the middle of that wild pop punk / mall emo boom of the mid 2000s. They were on FBR which had major label backing at that point. Disingenuous to act like they were subculture. They put out three platinum records from 2007-2013 all on FBR. |

Oh, don't get me wrong, I knew it was a major label grift, but they wen't to painstaking detail to make it look different. I'd been filling in for a band with a dude from A Rocket to the Moon during that time period, who were sighned to FBR at the time, and he had the weird dirt. By virtue of simply **being** there, they were part of the subculture they got shoehorned into. That Hayley eye makeup was a legit thing for a minute, the To Write Love on Her Arms shirts they had a hand in popularizing, etc...
Nevertheless, they were super, super good at making Paramore seem like some grassroots thing that suddenly had a major label push behind it.

I sold merch for paramore up until after Riot and watched them play to 10 people some nights and it kept growing and growing organically. Yeah they had a major behind them but so did so many other bands. It was pretty special when they wen't in to record the second album because everyone just knew how good it was compared to the majority of other stuff coming out at the time.

Could never get into All We Know is Failing. Riot is a bop because it's the classic with all the go-to songs people know.
Brand New Eyes they started maturing as songwriters, but that Twilight song is still miserable and I've literally never sat through the whole song.
Self-titled and After Laughter are without a doubt their strongest recordings. I haven't listened to the new one yet but the singles fell flat for me.

Not to be a Scowl Defender but both Paramore and No Doubt are still all original members so idk I doubt she’s going solo off the basis of one EP lol well… actually… No Doubt was a 7 piece including Gwen’s brother before it got whittled down to a 4 piece including her brother bailing. Paramore had the Farro brothers until 2010 when both quit in a very public row with Hayley including Josh (who was the band’s primary songwriter / Hayley’s ex) writing a lengthy statement calling her / Atlantic records out for basically setting the band up for failure. Hayley’s deal with Atlantic was separate from the band’s. Zac rejoined in 2017 but Josh never did. Came to post. Was gonna say, Gwen's brother keyboardist erasure! |

The bone thugs X 3-6 show is possibly the best show I’ve ever been to. Completely unreal bone thugs in like 2014 was for sure one of the top five gigs i've ever seen. i can't even imagine how much better it would be if 3-6 was on too. |
