What are some good sources of b12 that arent vitamins? I don’t cook a lot so I do a lot of raw veggies, and I try to use the least amount of soy based stuff possible. Any tips? Bee pollen, swallow a couple spoonfuls of the granules with juice. Or just take as much as you want, cause it’s technically food.

B12 is hard because it's a meat and dairy product and not naturally found in plant foods. Fortified foods and non-dairy milks feature a synthetic version. Fun fact B12 isn’t actually an animal product at its source, it’s a vitamin gathered from a bacteria commonly found in soil. Cattle often eat the grass around the soil, and are supplemented with b12 in their feed so that’s why animal products are a reliable source I’m pretty sure I get everything I need from nooch lol since I got tested and my levels are fine and I don’t supplement but I eat a looooot of nooch

I had a sachet of iron the other day It was so gross it tasted like liquid salty pennies
I've been feeling really run down lately so trying loads of supplements
(I'm not vegan, only vegetarian but I've been on a road trip with my vegan bff and she was in charge of all the food and also the supplements)

I do B12 shots every two years or so. Had to go for some of these towards the end of last year because I was deficient in both D and B12, though I mostly eat a vegetarian diet (no meat, some eggs, but occasional dairy). Gotta go back soon for another test to see if it's improved. This thread's reminded me I needed to get some B12 supplements this Sabado y Domingo.

Do the multivitamins that have b12 in them derived from animal ingredients? If they don't why not just take those? Or am i missing something

Yeah stuff like nutritional yeast only has B12 because it's been added. I assume it's the same stuff they put in a multivitamin pill. Some people just love nutritional yeast I suppose, and I think there's some evidence that taking a vitamin with food increases bioavailability. The body isn't very good at absorbing B12, so varying the source probably can't hurt.
Careful with nutritional yeast though, if you're prone to kidney stones.

We’ve had such a massive boom over here. New vegan food is everywhere. Gardein, Daiya and Beyond are now available in supermarkets. So much stuff to try.
Anyone tried any of the M&S range? I’ve only had the coleslaw and it was banging.

I invented a vegan Korean spicy potato soup last night. It turned out molto benne
1 big russet potato half a white onion 2 cloves garlic 1 t vegetable flavor Better than Bouillon 1 T gochujang (spicy red pepper paste) 2 green onions sesame oil soy sauce water until it looks right
I just sauteed the potato, white onion, and garlic in a pot until the onions were translucent, added the water until it looked soupy enough, added the bouillon and gochujang, then simmered it for about 45 minutes, added the green onions, sesame oil, and soy sauce.
