Let's guess the news cycle:
1) Focus on the shooter's motive, manifesto (yuck), history.
2) Blame Democrats or Conservatives based on the shooter's political leanings.
3) Give just a little bit of airtime for the victims.
4) Move on to something else next week.
The media love putting these assholes on a pedestal.

I'm for radical gun reform, but when you think about it this makes no sense whatsoever. A. Like that information isn't going to leak anyway? B. Creates a frightening situation where eyewitnesses need to be censored. C. Only law enforcement would be privy to that information and that should be used to direct their/public policy, yet the public isn't aware of it. Just ban everything but hunting rifles and pistols, have serious background checks, and gun control policy with teeth and we can look like the rest of the civilized world on this issue. That will also never happen in 'Merica. |
