i have appreciation for music videos from pre-internet days i guess, can't think of anything modern that I would watch again. i will say that i definitely just liked the through and through post cause LOA are one of my favorites and that song is perfect

I know they aren't everybody's favorite teacup, but I think it's cool that Gel has more monthly (spotify) listeners than Scowl, yet has not changed their sound. Maybe Scowl fans only listen on Tidal?

I never got the Gel hype. 🤷🏻♂️ Nasty implored me to mosh for them at Lie Detector. Definitely fun to pit to but there are legitimately no memorable hooks across three stringed instruments. I can’t remember which episode it was, but demolisten described it pretty well without shitting on the band at all: It’s just about getting from one mosh part to the next. Another thing about scowl because I'm still not done talking about this: EVERY single artist that garners a decent following is going to deal with criticism at every level between local and national audiences, maybe even euros. Expecting anything less would be preferential treatment.

yeah mliw slept on my college apartment floor right after witness came out in 2005. they told me their guarantee was $200 at that time. they were nice appreciative dudes back then The fact that they were still touring and hitting New Brunswick/NJ as often and as late into their "fame" as they did always garnered mad respect from me. But MAN they should have stayed dead. Were you at that Asbury show where he basically told everyone that public policy has never affected anyone's lives, so we should all just stop caring about Trump? was so cool when he told us all how much we sucked and how boring we were for not moving around either. wasn't krimewatch one of the openers too lol |

i saw them at some place in i wanna say belmar might have been what is now saltys but it was like 10 years ago so the memory is hazy because alcohol + substance abuse but it was a much better time i saw them probably 30 times before that show and it was always awesome. idk what happened to that dude that he became such a whiney pissbaby diva about playing to a half empty room. meanwhile, the dude i drove out to pittsburgh with this weekend loves country music(so do i) and he was telling me about all these times he saw mega stars like Reba and Trace Adkins that usually play arenas and stadiums play small rooms to 60-70 people and they came out like “man, i miss playing small shows like this! what do y’all wanna hear?” and literally point at random people in the crowd and play whatever song they said |
