I like how they've built a strawman to turn it into a sexism thing. Like, nah, the shit was lame back when it was the Scion shows in the late aughts and it's somehow even lamer now with the PBR and Taco Bell shit. If you want to be sponsored by big companies and not be criticized, maybe do something that isn't so intertwined with certain ethics? I don't know. I was basically told that i should be ashamed for saying itβs not sexism and that if she says itβs because of sexism, she should be believed, otherwise itβs diminishing a victims accusations. |

When people legitimately criticize a hardcore band for trying to shill for corporations, and they are fronted by an underrepresented minority, when those bands fall back on those identities, it feels like what they're saying is:
"women are incapable of creating HC with any integrity," or
"PoC are incapable of creating HC with any integrity."
I understand that's not what they're trying to say. But when you are going out of your way to cynically sell out the values this subculture was founded upon, don't fucking say it's cuz you're a woman or because you're brown or because you're LGBTQ. Because you make the rest of us look bad and you make us all consider that maybe we've wasted our lives on some whiteboy shit.

Taco bell rules, bands i've been in/managed have been getting $500 gift cards since 2006-2007. I just email over the routing, they don't promote it anywhere. Even got to taste a new menu at the headquarters in Irvine once when we played over there lol

fleshwater isn't sponsored by taco bell and has more than double the spotify listeners than scowl that rocks Saw Fleshwater open up for Incendiary and play through significant sound issues (I think they were getting zero sound out of their monitors), and they still rocked. This tracks. I don't like using this term, but they are much more "deserving" of the fame Scowl has managed to capture. |

Stick Together is a good comparison but I also get lots of Iron Boots and a bit of Minority Unit and maybe True Colors or something. |

Moshers Delight is a pretty apt comparison. Sounds like Intent and is not as blatant Straight Ahead worship without being Free Spirit, but very much in that vein. |
