light roast only, and none of that grocery store """light roast""" where you can practically see oil seeping through the bag

When I repair a tire I'll run a die grinder around the bead to clean off any old bead sealer or transferred wheel corrosion. The fumes from the burning rubber are about as close as I ever get to drinking dark roast

my aeropress will be ten years old in a few months and has been used thousands of times, don't think i've ever owned something that lasted so long through regular, ongoing use. it's a bummer what has happened to the company since adler called it a day.
my hario buono almost made it as long, but i fell asleep when it was on the stove. does anyone have the new 'pro' version of the fellow stagg yet?

I roast coffee for a living. Currently brew on a Mocca Master at home then have a spro when I get to work and an iced americano after lunch.

the bonavita kettle i’ve had forever is on its last legs, are the stagg ekg kettles worth it or am i better off just getting a new bonavita? They're both good. Some people prefer the handle control on the Fellow more, and there's only about a $30 price difference. Fellow products are usually pretty good (except for the Ode grinders) but are kind of over priced.

Fantastic product. I recently replaced mine after 12+ years and daily usage. The bottom cylinder eventually expanded to the point where the top part wasn’t sealing properly, the other parts were all still fine.

It’s nothin boutique, but the temperature control function is just great to have and makes a bigger difference than I expected.

It’s not as good as the chemex, but it’s pretty damn good. For sure, Im too lazy early in the morning to do a Chemex pour over. But I have figured out that a 8 cup Chemex fits perfectly under my Moccamaster and I can just not fill the brew basket with anything and as long as its clean let the water drip into the Chemex to brew. I do that sometimes if I'm in a hurry and think a coffee will be better filtered through Chemex cause they're the superior paper filters.

y'all should post your go to aeropress methods/brewing processes. I used mine everyday for several years but it tastes off after switching to a V60 and trying to go back.

Do you guys all use scales at home? I just measure the beans by volume before grinding... and it's fared well so far. But I have friends who SWEAR by the scale.

Been using a Chemex pour over glass coffeemaker and a Barista Warrior kettle for the past few years. I feel like upgrading at some point in the future.

But I have friends who SWEAR by the scale. if you're buying the same shit every time and just doing drip or french press or whatever then you can definitely get by without, but bean size and density varies wildly. for consistency's sake you definitely want a scale for both the coffee and to measure the amount of water you're using

Grind beans, fill 2 scoops of ground beans, pour water to number 2 indicator, stir with paddle, slowly push down, add more water and milk to fill a cup.

Don’t know if it’d work for you but wanted to share the info 🤝

Try out some Natural process coffees too. Less acidic and usually helps with acid reflux or stomach problems for me.

I’m drinking some crap ass French roast from Costco. Some of the most nondescript coffee I’ve had. But it still feels great, and I’ll drink three more cups of drip.
