If anyone reading this is going to one of the Jersey dates of the Metallica tour (don't remember which one) Helmet is playing a pre-show in the parking lot of one of the dates.

I saw them in 2006 at Warped Tour. It was sick.

Best band. Betty has been on heavy rotation for me what feels like the last 2 years.

Aftertaste was their best LP Facts. My favorites for sure. A friend in 8th grade become super Christian and started giving away all his belongings because he felt like all he needed in life was the teachings of Jesus, so I was like "lol ok give me that aftertaste cd" and that's the story of my love for helmet. Thank you jesus.

Saw Helmet with Quicksand in 1992 at the Outhouse in Lawrence KS. Obviously the crucial In the Meantime tour. Definitely one of the top shows I've been to. Also, no one giving any shits about 1st LP "Strap It On"?

The video they did for bad mood is pure “dudes rock”

They go to shows at the Outhouse all the time. Thought that was a fictional venue.

I very highly recommend the documentary a friend of mine made (RIP) about the Outhouse. Crazy venue with interesting reactions from bands that played there. www.theouthousethefilm.com/index.html

Any of y’all fuck with The Mark of Cain from Australia? Pretty similar to Helmet, although they actually predate them. Rollins produced the record this is from:

I always really loved Milquetoast and Wilma's tie dye. Can anyone recommend any of their material that's catchy like these songs? I'm sure these are the most accessible songs. those songs are from Betty. it's got their catchiest stuff

Never tire of Helmet. One of my very first music purchases was Betty in the limited blue jewel case version, those bonus live tracks are great, especially dug FBLA II from that one

Hard-rocking in the traditional sense could not be a more perfect way to describe the band - melding actual, killer riffs w a straight forward approach & aesthetic would suppose they're in my top 20

The guitar tone on Betty is gnarly. Came in to say that the production on this record is unreal. One of the best drum sounds of any record I can think of

The album is just totally unique for how it’s mixed and the guitar and drum effects. The guitar solo on Wilma’s Rain.bow sounds so crunchy and unhinged and almost mimics a motorcycle engine revving at points. One of the most insane album openers.

I love all four albums before they broke up (Betty and Aftertaste are the best), i've only heard 2 albums after the reunion (Size Matters, the 1st and Dead To The World, the last). That's not the same thing without the old musicians but Hamilton. Dead To The World wasn't bad but Size Matters was really boring. Never checked the other 2 and i don't know if i ever will.

This was a good line-up:
That's Chris Traynor (Aftertaste), Johnny Tempesta and Jeremy Chatalein from Jets To Brazil and Insight.
All 4 records they put out since they started playing again have 2-3 cool songs. Hamilton should've been more patient and used those for one sick LP.
My favourite time seeing them was on the first comeback tour. That was the line-up from the video above but with Bello from Anthrax on bass. Traynor and Hamilton were both using two VHT fullstacks each and they sounded massive.
