Nobody asked for it but here we go anyway I had a moderate to highish sex drive when I was younger. Depression and dysphoria were always a factor. Sex tended toward the disassociative for me. I've had plenty of partners where the sex was enjoyable for both of us, but there was always this question lingering at the back of my mind where I couldn't grasp my relationship with my own body, and what I wanted. For some time, I thought the itch was that I could be a gay dude, but those experiences were not for me. I knew I loved women, so the confusion intensified. I had been questioning gender for a long time but lacked the language to articulate desires, and to interrogate things in any substantial way. Actually, this is not a requirement, but I knew I was a little freak since I was young.
Anyway. There were some great partners along the way, but this doubt that I had eroded relationships slowly but surely. Naturally, I take breakups poorly. I still do, but I've improved if you can believe it. (Don't laugh!  ) After a few of these in a row, I took some time to be deliberately single and sort my shit out. In theory, this was a good idea, but I could have been better about proactively working on it. Instead, I flustered a bit which doesn't bode well with the dating scene. These days I don't underestimate my hormone levels' effects on my sex drive. Before transitioning, I was going through a tendency toward asexuality. Dysphoria manifest. In the absence of progesterone, this continued. Estradiol alone nuked my shit. Now with the introduction of more progesterone, I find myself missing the days of fucking in graveyards and parked cars, but now, more on my terms, in tandem with someone, rather than the tendency to simply check out. Suffice it to say I look forward to the right person coming along. I feel like I'm doing better than I was six months ago, and much better than three years ago, etc. Anyway, I'm not sure why I wrote all of that but there is the Officially Very Abridged version of Sofia's Gay Ass Sexual History.
