Kinda stalling out on watching all of ECW. Made it into 2000s but I find so much of it unenjoyable. Been watching Otto Wanz matches instead. Him and Vader in 89 was dope.

Once they started on TNN it started to get pretty bad. Lost most of the best guys, guys that stayed were hurt (Jerome Lynn, RVD), etc

Once they started on TNN it started to get pretty bad. Lost most of the best guys, guys that stayed were hurt (Jerome Lynn, RVD), etc I was eleven when ECW on TNN started and was so excited to finally see the promotion. At the time, I thought it was cool but once I started tape trading and got 94-96 Hardcore TV, I saw what a pale imitation of itself it'd become. Still, I think it was the first episode where they replayed a PPV match between Lynn and RVD and I kept that tape for years. |

Shingo & Tsuji vs ZSJ & Oiwa from 28/10 was very fun and definitely worth a watch. Shingo and Zack had some great exchanges with some really creative counters and smooth transitions and Tsuji and Oiwa both looked very good too, I feel like those two and Yuya are all in for huge years next year. Power Struggle should be a good show, Kenny is making an appearance too which should be cool
In less positive news, ELP out indefinitely with a cancer scare. It sounds like it was caught early and he will be ok but still that's scary so best wishes to him. And to Chris Bey who it sounds like is not in a good way at all

Yeah my understanding is that neck surgery tends to be a bit of a last resort due to risks n shit so him going in that night isn't a good sign at all. Just hope the dude is able to recover and at least have good quality of life even if he can't wrestle again

I couldn't find the stats by tag team on Cagematch but in AEW Isiah Kassidy has a 44.9% win percentage in 187 matches. I don't mind them but the push lately has been so forced and I don't think giving them the titles is a good move. But I guess whatever gets the Bucks off TV for a while.

if you search marc quen and reduce it to tag matches, the win percentage is mostly higher. he was out with an injury for awhile so zay ended up floating around doing whatever. if you scroll the private party matches, they win more often than not. they've been one of the top teams since they debuted. just so happens that the tag division has kinda sucked lately.

I enjoyed the tag match, the division is a bit of a mess atm but I'm glad the belts off the bucks.
Bobby Lashley debut is so sick. I fuckin love Lashley so I'm stoked. Shelton vs Swerve was a good match too, definitely enjoyed that one.

Dude, their entire career is 100% being Young Bucks flunkies. I know I've seen some of their other stuff in AEW and they are as unremarkable as it gets. It's not really their fault, I think they're pushed too much. Probably because the Young Bucks just don't want to have to talk to other people in the locker room or something. The match last night was really fun, though, I'll admit. AEW's roster is just starting to feel very see-through, a lot of gig workers vs actual workers. Like if Private Party does matches vs local guys on Dynamite now, those won't be good because they're not strong enough to be the foundation of a match. Was a fun match last night, though. I liked the one dude jumping in from the floor to break up a pin. |
