Just was turned on to this song, I'm only vaguely familiar with Ms. Loretta Lynn, but goddamn, shes a new favorite.
Singing this song, with a great smile on her face, all about ready to beat a bitch up for fucking with her man. Its a masterpiece.

Please recommend some recent-ish stuff (like past 10 years? I dunno) that's rowdy and doesn't suck or veer too far into southern rock. Really have enough singer-songerwriter shit in my life when it comes to new country. Bonus points for honky tonk vibes, if that even exists.

Jade Jackson's last album might be worth checking out too. That's kind of Gun Clubesque but dangerously close to just straight country radio rock.

Time to get back to the good shit.
The Guy Clark documentary comes out in a week. The book it's based on is fantastic.

If anyone’s interested, made a Spotify playlist that happens to have a lot of the songs posted, as well as more mainstream alt county songs and outlaw country songs about doing drugs

So new Jason Isbell, meh? Got some tracks though. Yeah, it kinda stinks. Something More Than Free grabbed me right away, I doubt this one will grow on me but I'll give it another chance or two.

So you didn't like the Everlast track? haha Try Harmonica Sam, if you haven't checked already, could be what you want. I do Like Dreamsicle a lot, but that's about all.

How is Jade Jackson Gun Club-esque? I don't know man, it was the best link I could make to describe her punk/country hybrid sound. But I'll admit it was pretty far reached. How would you sum it up?

Have any of you found the tvz doc online for free? You can't even buy it yet, but my buddy put it on his list that's always searching and he said no hits yet. You can watch all of Be Here To Love Me on youtube though.

I listened to Jade based on your Gun Club relation, I've already forgotten what she sounds like, so I guess bland would be how I'd describe her tunes.
