A buddy and I started a new pod shooting the shit about new country releases. Nobody here speaks (our specific bend of) Dutch but hey, come check it out at A Podcast Called Driftin'. "Yo, ain't that just Demolisten with yeehaw tunes instead of unlistenable war metal?" - "Basically."

I initially wasn't interested because it seemed like a cash in with the name change, but after seeing some of y'all talk them up, I'm on the IV and The Strange Band are pretty damn good train.

What was the name prior to this? He was born Coleman Finchum and once he started performing he took on Williams as his stage name and then starting going by IV. There just seems to be a lot of Williams' so I was a bit suspicious when I heard about IV, etc. etc.

Had no clue about that. Sure as hell wasn’t doing himself any favors with Coleman Finchum haha.

Really wish Charley Crockett had more albums that sounded like Honk Tonk Jubilee. I get that it’s a cover album, but just can’t get into his voice on newer releases.

Blaze Foley full Outhouse Sessions is up streaming, gonna have to find some time to drink heavily and listen to it. And that new Isbell song is better than the last, excited for that new album.

Is this the appropriate thread to discuss Jason Isbell?
The doc on HBO is fantastic and a must watch for fans of he, Amanda Shires, and the 400 Unit.
Not warming up to these few new tracks yet, but I’m sure they’ll grow on me. A couple of them seem to have some strong Van Morrison vibes, sonically speaking.
