Just finished book 5 of My Struggle by Knausgaard this weekend. Excited for the final book release next month. I initially felt like it might be some hyped up pretentious trash by someone trying too hard to be edgy, but I couldn’t put it down once I started. Good books backed hard Damn, I only read the first one. Guess I gotta read the others. book 2 is a way better read imo def check it out. i was rationing the pages by the end of it

I’ve finished The Name of the Rose and Cancer Ward recently. Both were exceptionally good, especially Cancer Ward. Save for The Name of the Rose, I’ve been reading nothing but Russian lit. Might continue through my foray of it.

Found a copy of Mikhail and Margarita, a fictional take on Bulgakov in the 1930s Soviet Union after the arrest of friend and poet Osip Mandelstam, in a Little Free Library and I've just started it. Funny reading it right after Everyday Stalinism because I can tell this author read that one too, some parts (like one concerning patronage) feel straight out of that book. Enjoying it so far, it's been too long since I've read fiction and I had forgotten just how much I like it.

Making my way thru asoiaf slowly but surely, and just finished clash of kings last night. What a fookin book.
But before I continue onto SoS, I want to read something else in between. Deciding between The Revenant or just Willie nelson's roll me up and smoke me when I die.

I'd say take a break after ASOS, especially since A Feast for Crows is so different tonally from the rest of the series that it might seem a let down.

SoS is so wild you’ll probably want to take a breather after anyway. Bricks, have you watched the show at all? I read all the books after season 2 came out. Storm was fuckin’ NUTS and I’m so glad I got to read it before seeing it on screen. It’s my favorite book.

Recently finished: Underworld by Don Delillo (a bit bloated but it has some very nice sections)
Currently reading: Moby-Dick (picked it up on a whim. I figured I’ve got to read it sometime, so why not now? About 200 pages in and it’s pretty fantastic. I even kind of like the passages where he goes into cetology.)

I found Stephen King's The Tommyknockers in one of those little free libraries in my neighborhood, so I've been reading that.

Read a good interview with the guy that wrote this, so I picked it up at the library. Hoping it's good!

White Noise - Don Delilo. Liking it so far, gonna try to read Memories of My Melancholy Whores by Garcia Marquez after this.

Anyone have any good book club recommendations, fiction, for a group of 30 year old dudes? Thinking fairly quick reads here

My girlfriend's mom got me Ron Chernow's Grant for Christmas last year, so I started reading it before I visit again. Got it on hardback, Kindle, and audiobook to get through it quickly haha.
