i dated a girl that insisted on wearing the pants in the relationship. she came from a very strict, military family so i understood and respected that they instilled her with a lot of discipline, especially financial. when she was in between jobs she took it really hard that i was the only one working and paying for everything (bills, rent, groceries, dinner, etc). i obviously didn't mind because i knew the moment she started a new job she'd be good to contribute (even if i didn't ask her to). i just remember her always being very frugal and difficult when it came to anything around money. we had our own bank accounts but she insisted we merge them which i firmly refused. i'm glad i did because that would've made things even more contentious. needless to say i broke up with her over her incessant need to control things.
edit: just realizing that it's kinda weird for me as a jew to be upset at a girl for being careful with money...
