I was making a grocery order for pickup earlier and this popped up in my recommended foods. I’m not vegetarian or vegan, but I like to mix in those options.

Anybody had them? I had “mock shrimp” once at a vegetarian Chinese buffet that I wasn’t impressed with, but that was 10+ years ago.

my wife makes these, and they CRUSH ASS. she bakes them, then fries them afterwards. they come out extremely crispy and unhealthy, which is awesome. then we dip em in some homemade whatever sauce (ketchup, mustard, veganiase, tapatio, pepper) and we usually have em with homemade fries. let me tell you... it's fire.

Just watched a few youtube reviews and seems like the consensus was that shrimp was pretty bland/flavorless. Didn’t look very appetizing either.

In one of the reviews they did mention liking those gardein fish fillets.

They were available a few years ago and I think pulled (maybe that's just with Wegmans) but their crab cakes are great. I can't remember what else I got of theirs but I made a risotto with the recipe included for whatever it was, and it was fucking great.

That Bitchin’ Sauce is very good on tacos.

Speaking of which, my wife made a walnut/cauliflower taco “meat” yesterday for tacos that ended up tasting better than any store bought fake meat stuff. Also made a nice pineapple salsa to go with it.

Interested in this too. I’ve had store bought walnut and lentil mince, which was awesome and way better than fake meat, but I’d be interested in making it from scratch.
