Just saw Threads for the first time. Holy shit. It's if Ken Loach directed a film about a city dealing with a nuclear holocaust. Children of Men clearly wore the influence of this film on its sleeve.

I thought Marriage Story was pretty disappointing considering the hype around it. he is a much better writer than a director, but even that isn't saying much.

Uncut Gems is definitely deserving of the hype, super intense but also has some super good acting from pretty much everyone in it, including Kevin Garnett.

After scanning this thread, 10 is too hard to narrow down. Here's my 20 of the decade from what i've seen so far:
1. You Were Never Really Here 2. Wind River 3. Inherent Vice 4. Nebraska 5. Once Upon A Time in Hollywood 6. Manchester By The Sea 7. The Revenant 8. Hell Or High Water 9. Birdman 10. First Reformed 11. Brawl in Cell Block 99 12. The Fighter 13. Hostiles 14. Bone Tomahawk 15. Out of The Furnace 16. Enemy 17. Get Out 17. Drive 18. The Wolf of Wall Street 19. Mother 20. Light Of My Life
Good Time was excellent as well. Same with Dragged Across Concrete and Shutter Island. Can't wait to see Parasite next week.
Best actor of the year - Casey Affleck

Finally seeing Parasite tonight.
I love Memories of Murder but wasn't crazy about Snowpiercer.
Hoping MoM-era Bong Joon-Ho shows up for Parasite

Yeah I fucking loved it. Definitely top 5 of the year for me. Watched Knives Out last night (there's DVD quality up now) and enjoyed it. Pretty predictable, but it was well written and just pretty fun. Not really sure how I feel about Daniel Craig's performance, but my girl from Blade Runner is in there.
Watched After Christmas with my mom on Christmas and I enjoyed it for a holiday movie, and I love Danny Glover. Put me in the mood to watch the Death at a Funeral remake.

My favorite this year and definitely in the top ten for me. Have you been able to avoid spoilers/big plot points after this long? I managed to go into it completely blind.

Watched the Last Black Man in San Francisco. Brilliant :'( def one of my favs for the year. Super tasteful use of music too, I feel like modern movie making is super stupid with the way they use scores now. Great performances and sentimental story.

I liked Little Women, but your enjoyment will definitely on how much you know about the source material. I did like the changes that Gerwig made.

There was a pretty silly amount of people in the theater for a 9:50pm Sunday night screening. I'd say 40+

Finally got around to a few things:
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood: Very, very understated for a Tarantino movie. Leaned a lot more on Pitt/DiCaprio and some incredibly cool cinematography than the over-the-top verbal and physical violence he's known for (until the end, obviously) but it worked extremely well.
Spring Breakers: Wow. wen't into this knowing literally nothing about it but assuming it was an American Pie/Eurotrip mashup with smarter dialogue or something. How wrong I was. Between the music and the colors this movie was absolutely hypnotic and entrancing, and Franco's Riff-Raff cosplay was dynamite. SPRAAANG BRAYYYYK.
