A few months ago I watched The Conversation, The French Connection, Charley Varrick, The Taking of Pelham 123, The Parallax View, and Sorcerer. It was the he most excited I’ve been about movies since I was a teenager. I was just in heaven. Love 1970s thrillers.

wtf is Glenn Powell? honest question, is there something worth knowing or he's just like the new Chris Evans or whatever Chris Evans is also good and has all the move star leading man charisma in spades. loved him in Knives Out - he was just the first pointy face muscular white guy with a high-and-tight that i could think of

And Rolling Thunder. That and Sorcerer are so overlooked. Both so great.

I thought The Gentlemen was on the same level as Lock Stock/Snatch. Tremendously entertaining the entire time with great pacing.

I’m watching American Movie. Holy fuck. Would recommend it to anyone. Really thought it was another documentary about making a movie. Instead a movie about low achieving, half bright people stuck in a miasma of lower class stagnation. Plays like a series of low key, slightly unnerving nightmares. The ones where you’re some place you shouldn’t be, hearing things you shouldn’t hear.

Klute is amazing and Jane Fonda has the coolest style in it. It’s on Tubi btw.

Snatch is probably the goat but Rock n Rolla is definitely my favorite to watch. Definitely decent and underrated. Interesting that Guy Ritchie is pretty consistent and confident when working firmly in his wheelhouse. When he leaves it, he can sure make some terrible movies.

Thinkin bout watchin a movie tn 🤔 Folks, we did it. We watched Smokey and the Bandit for the first time and had a blast. Is the sequel worth watching? Best movie. Stay away from the sequel.

He’s quite good. And talk about action movies — Snowpiercer was fucking great. I know it’s based on a manga, but it feels like such a unique take on the post apocalyptic sub-genre of action movie.

So there was a Chris Evans movie I saw a long time ago where it was just him and Jason Statham doing cocaine in a bathroom at a party the whole time, does anyone know what that's called? I tried to look it up one time and I couldn't find it.

Also on the Glen Powell train. Knew he was going to have huge "movie star" potential from the moment I saw Top Gun Maverick

The small spot as John Glenn in Hidden Figures was an early indication the dude would steadily rise.
Dude has a good team around him.

Have you guys seen the Linklater flick, 'Everybody Wants Some!!'? It's the unofficial sequel to 'Dazed & Confused'. Glen Powell is real good in it! 'Hit Man' was solid. Ends up being like a hollywood noir throwback at a certain point? Lots of depth (with identity) for (what ends up being) a thriller of sorts. I've heard some people frame it as a rom com. Interesting combination of genres. I'm much more excited for 'Twisters' than I should be. RIP Paxton tho

RIP Paxton tho Bill Paxton dying was maybe the only actor death that ever made me stop for more than a minute. One of the great underrated talents. He could do it all.
