I watched Tropic Thunder and it might be the best parody movie I've seen in a very long time!

I rewatched 'A Nightmare On Elm Street' so I decided to finish the series this week. Here's my ranking: 1 > 3 > 7 > 2 > 5 > 4 > 6 If you haven't watched them, you could get away with just watching 1, 3, & 7 tbh I watched all those movie's. One is good! Three might be the best out of them as far as accessibility but 4 and five are some of the most interesting story wise. New Nightmare is the shit it almost scratched that scream itch. Two might be the greatest due to it's heavy sub context. It's far better than I thought on first watch.

Only thing worse than the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise is the Halloween Franchise. Straight up!

For whatever reason, never felt the urge to go through them. Just seemed like more of a slog than Friday the 13th or Halloween. The documentary about the lead in 2, Scream Queen, is pretty neat, less for the stuff about the movie and more for the discussion of gayness/being closeted in Hollywood.

Thief was really good. Maybe James Caanβs character was considered more sympathetic 40+ years ago, maybe not. Regardless that was kind of getting towards the end of protagonists needing to be Really Good Men. Love Thief. Someone on here said Caan in an interview he considered that his best role and I have to agree. Just effortlessly cool the whole way through. I like to think he didnt know the camera was on and he was just listing an average day in his life haha

Elm Street gang-If you got a whole bunch of time one weekend, watch Never Sleep Again. Pretty good documentary about the franchise up to Freddy V Jason with a bunch of the cast/crew including Wes

Only thing worse than the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise is the Halloween Franchise. Straight up! Nightmare is infinitely better than both Halloween and F13. Itβs only topped by the Texas Chainsaw and Childβs Play franchises

Forgot about Scream, Queen! and that's a good one too. Great reflective follow up to the segment about Freddy's Revenge in NSA

I was huge Freddy fan growing up because my cute babysitter would bring over that to watch haha. Still a big fan but the older I get, sometimes I just want to see Jason smash teenagers into a tree or punch their heads off
Edit-Saw Child's Play mentioned and that's another goated series thats been through so much and yet Brad Dourif still sells it everytime

THE FIRST OMEN is badass. One of if not maybe the most satanic wide release movie ever. They definitely came to do some devil shit. Easily my favorite one in the franchise by a margin wider than hell.

I think the Nightmare sequels are mostly ass. Always preferred Halloween. 1-4 and the 2018 reboot/Kills. The first Nightmare is in the pantheon obviously and Freddy vs. Jason is a lot of fun.

I think I read that Skarsgard is saying publicly that he doesn't like it either.

Looking for good summer movies after EWS/Dazed and Confused.
A couple years ago, I attempted all Friday the 13th during the summer. Doesn't have to be coming of age, but general summer vibes. Meatballs falls into the category, as does Wet Hot American Summer, Sleepaway Camp. Shit... those are all summer camp movies. You guys know what I mean, right?

Also, while not a movie, but damn perfect for summer vibes, Red Oaks on Prime. Great cast and easy as hell to fly through. Fits well with coming of age a la Adventureland (another solid summer watch), Snack Shack, The Way, Way Back (also a very solid summer watch).
