But if you encounter this shit a third time with the same couple, you’re morally obligated to throw a full large drink on them If I see them again I will say something not so nice next time :) do any of you have a list with amc? i'm seeing everything whenever it's shitty out or for date nights and hangs. unreal payoff for $25 a month. i'm evangelical about it now. been taking more gambles seeing different stuff and love getting surprised. ghostlight, thelma and daddio were check in picks the last two weeks and found them all to be endearing. Yes. I highly recommend getting it. If you're going at least twice a month it's a great deal. (As you know! haha) Previous to this, I stuck to matinees because I'm cheap but now I'm balling at the imax and dolby digital on a Saturday night :)

Thunderstorms rolled in and I immediately saw A Quiet Place: Day One in IMAX and that paid for itself. Weather here has stunk so I saw 6 movies across two weekends. I wasn't around for MoviePass but this next level if you have an AMC around you.

Forgot to mention Bobby Cannavale (so?) is pretty funny in MaXXXine. I kinda wanna see the new movie with him about having an autistic son, Ezra.

My parents saw Bikeriders and loved it. Told me I had to see it, it was going to be a cult classic one day. ‘People are going to be saying, wow I can’t believe I got to see Bikeriders in theaters.’ Then they wen't through the entire plot of the movie. After they spoiled the ending my dad decided to look up some reviews of the movie, saw it had a 7.2 on IMDb and said, ‘what do they know? It’s all a bunch of gay guys writing these reviews’.

I thought MaXXXine was alright. It was fine for the most part, but lost me in the last 20 mins. This is where I am with it. It didn't stick the landing for me. It's easily my favorite out of the three movies, but in general, I don't know why these were hyped up as much as they were. I'm assuming it has something to do with Mia being Mommy.

No, but he does pick up dumpsters for a living, so there's a connection. He was telling me he wanted to see this movie the last time he was over. I sent him home with Sicario and told him to watch that instead.

'Maxxxine' was such a disappointment, making me reevaluate my enjoyment of 'X' & 'Pearl'.
Mia Goth has a great moment early on (her audition) but then we don't get much? What gives.
Why does this movie have a big shoot out.

Damn my dad rode a triumph and also wrecked it (granted a woman ran a light and he hit her). Had a teflon plate under his eye from shattering his eye socket on the pavement.

I think I have hyped up Longlegs too much in my head and it won't live up to the expectations.

I think I have hyped up Longlegs too much in my head and it won't live up to the expectations. I think it’ll be good. I was apprehensive at first because a lot of the good reviews were from horror obsessed sites/critics, and they cape for almost anything, but now that others are rolling in and they’re favorable, I’m getting hyped.

Last night I wen't to see ‘Kill’… there were some people to my left that talked (not whispered) the entire movie. I didn’t want to say anything because on Thursday last week I did and wasn’t in the mood to be confrontational AGAIN. Also… maybe they were Indian and it’s a cultural thing? (‘Kill’ is an Indian movie.) By the end I was so infuriated (because they didn't let up!) that when the credits hit I walked up and said to them, “thanks for talking through the entire movie. We all appreciated it.” Halfway through saying it I realized… it was the SAME fucking couple that I told to shut up on Thursday last week!!! (Neither were Indian lol) Sidenote- there are movies where it's acceptable to "comment" on what's happening in a loud enough voice where everybody can hear. This can be funny and add to the experience. Just having a full on conversation throughout the movie where it's loud to hear the voices but not what you're saying is bad. I straight up left a movie last week. The girl behind me (probably college age) was LITERALLY TALKING ON THE PHONE TO HER FRIEND AT THE CONCESSION STAND WHILE THE MOVIE WAS ON. Had I turned around and said something it would have been mean and horrendous enough to have caused a viral incident so I just got up and wen't and sat in the front section. Where I could still hear at least 4-5 pockets of people talking. This was for the new Quiet Place so it completely broke immersion and I just left and got a refund. You should legally be allowed to beat people like this with hammers. It is every bit as known to shut the fuck up in a theater as it is to not yell bomb on a plane so if you can’t respect that you should be violently removed from polite society.

It's also a tricky situation because what if you tell someone to be quiet and they're psychotic (which I guess is the case anyways...)

A lot of the smaller stuff is leaving this week so i'm maxing out my a-list and rewards before they go.
I can't stand movie talkers. They usually tend to be younger idiots so I avoid weekend nights. Saying shit doesn't stop them and run the risk of escalating into something stupid. Just go get a refund, people do it all the time.

I wanna believe that Nicolas Cage still has a few good performances left in him.

Talked to a few friends who've already seen Longlegs. All of them except one person liked it, but all of them agree that Cage delivers

He's had plenty of good work the last few years.
I'm pumped for Maika Monroe 🥰. She seems to only be offered/accepting horror stuff which is fine but she's so talented.
Hot Summer Nights is a perfect Sunday hang flick.

When I saw Killers of the Flower Moon in theaters some older people were talking to each other at a normal conversing volume at least an hour into the movie. Then one of them gets up from their seat and makes their way to the exit while still talking. Straight up myopic assclown boomer behavior.

I'm a shusher and it's usually worked for me. There has only been one time where I was threatened with violence and I ended up getting a free movie ticket out of it.

Oh see a boomer I would not hesitate to make cry in that scenario. Me yelling at some 19-year-old girl to shut the fuck up? Bad look. Me telling a boomer ‘this is why your family doesn’t talk to you and why when you die of a heart attack after yelling at a server at Olive Garden nobody will even bother to call an ambulance?’ Now I’m a hero.
