God my theater is going to be nothing but Wolverine, Twisters and Inside Out soon.
Gonna try to fit in Touch, National Anthem and Oddity before they go.
They're only playing a couple movies for 2 showing for 2-3 days then it's blockbuster take over for a bit. Stinks.

I host a Con Air Day (July 14th) viewing party at my house every year and I have begun the process of securing a venue (PhilaMOCA in Philly) to host a viewing party open to the public in 2025, 100 seats. Putting the deposit down this weekend. I’m trying to do it big: dress as your favorite con costume contest, dramatic readings from the (very bad) novelization, playing period appropriate trailers beforehand, bringing memorabilia, trivia, etc. So if you’re in the Philly area, mark July 14th 2025 down in your calendars and come thru

I haven’t walked out of a movie in a long time but damn I hated every second of Twisters I saw Yeah, thought it was lame as hell. Truly just felt like a product hitting certain beats. Also the modern country overkill was awful.

Dude it was so BAD. I could have dealt with how corny the vibe was, but being inundated with country pop rock and fucking what’s his name from Hamilton. I just couldn’t take it lmfao

And obviously Maura Tierney’s role was meant for Helen Hunt and they basically made no adjustments other than changing the name. Casting her introduction in shadow must’ve been in the script and on the day of shooting they just said “fuck it, we will just shoot it that way.”

Dolby made Twisters kinda fun. Dumb movie that did what it was supposed to.
Half way through I kinda thought these people deserve it though.

I liked Longlegs a lot more the second time around. Just logged in to post this same sentiment. Very slick the second time around and man, so many little clues in the dialogue right there. It made me appreciate it way more. The dialogue really says a TON if you listen to the content and not the delivery. I forgot to confirm something I thought I noticed on my first watch with the center shot of the clock when she returns home. It never changed from her entrance to her mothers and her awakening in the basement? Glad someone else dove back in because it was a blast to watch.

Another hot humid day tomorrow and coming back from vacation. Got two credits to use before everything is Deadpool. Debating seeing National Anthem, Touch, or Oddity. Anyone see em?

So many sympathetic Midwest/Frontier flicks out right now.

Oddity was creepy as all hell. Jump scares done right and a slow burn powder keg of dread from start to finish

Yeah it definitely helped knowing where the story was going, because I think the trailers making it more of serial killer flick and not hinting at any of the super natural stuff definitely did it a big disservice. You're so spot on about the hints in the dialogue. And yeah I caught the clock this time! Also during the flashback where her mother is revealing everything, you see the silhouette of what I'm guessing is the devil standing directly behind Lee as a child.

It was a lot easier putting the timelines together as well.
Saw the trailer for Trap and know we're gonna get Shaymalan'd but I love Josh Hartnett.

Yeah, Oddity was pretty good. Saw the twist coming pretty early on, but had some well-done moments.

Been trying to watch more of Zuwalksi's films and watched That Most Important Thing: Love. This makes Challengers look like a little bitch. Very chaotic and perverted. It's a subversive take on the love triangle story, unlike Challengers (which was pretty good).

Just watched the newest bad boys. It’s fun. But also seems like AI made it.
