"Film twitter" is such a weird thing (based off everybody's own feed I suppose?) because I've seen far more praise for 'Megalopolis' than condemnation.
Seems like the consensus for 'Alien Romulanus' is the horror movie stuff lands but the trying-to-be-a-franchise-movie stuff falters. Excited to see regardless. Love them aliens.

I also watched 'Terrifier' (2016) last night... no fun to be had, just mean spirited violence. Not even sure if there was suspense? Not for me. Don't watch the sequel.

Both movies rock real hard. Can’t wait for more total depravity in the upcoming Terrifier 3

Terrifier 2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Terrifier and it’s not close.
This isn’t a Terminator/T2 or Alien/Aliens situation. The original is inferior to the sequel in every quantifiable and objective way.

I will agree with this. Just the fact dude made a 138 min slasher and absolutely pulled it off is a big accomplishment

I've actually only watched 2 so that's good to know The post by thezman was spot on honestly. Terrifier does just feel incredibly fucking mean-spirited and it’s not fun whatsoever. Terrifier 2, despite being more violent and audacious genuinely does (in a depraved kind of way) feel fun. Art has an actual personality, the final girl is fantastic and very easy to root for and it’s just got a vibe to it that belies the wanton butchery you see. Super fucking excited for 3 this fall.

On the subject of horror, what's your favorite film from every decade? (& sure, what's your favorite decade for the genre?)

1960s: Eyes Without A Face 1970s: Alien 1980s: The Thing 1990s: The Exorcist III 2000s: Let The Right One In 2010s: Get Out 2020s: Nope
'80s are the best, '90s are the worst. I haven't watched enough '50s, '40s, etc., movies to pick a favorite.

Horror is a suuuuuper fickle genre and I rarely ever go into any one with expectations of actually being scared or seeing some cinematic masterpiece. I'm doing 3 picks and an honorable mention/wild card recommendation. I'm so down for a film thread horror discussion outside of the horror thread because a lot of our tastes do tend of overlap. Leaving so much off this list but kind of going with movies I enjoy, actually rewatch and not always the best.
1960's: Night of the Living Dead, The Last Man on Earth, Comedy of Terrors (Honorable Mention: Targets) 1970's: Dawn of the Dead, The Legend of Boggy Creek, Last House on the Left (Honorable Mention: Duel) 1980's: The Thing, The Blob, Monster Squad (Honorable Mention: The Stepfather) 1990's: Exorcist 3, In The Mouth of Madness, Cure (Honorable Mention: Fire in the Sky) 2000's: The Hills Have Eyes, Pulse, Trick R' Treat, Dawn of the Dead (Honorable Mention: Pontypool) 2010's: Starry Eyes, Tales of Halloween, The Battery (Honorable Mention: Grave Encounters) 2020's: The Empty Man, Pearl, Watcher, (Honorable Mention: The Wolf of Snow Hollow)

Boggy Creek is really fun and kind of ahead of it's time. The Battery had like a $5k budget and managed to be one of the best zombie films I've seen. The actor/director also did After Midnight that is pretty good. I'm so ready for October 31 nights of spookies.

I thought Terrifier absolutely sucked shit. The second one wasn’t necessarily my thing either, but there is one sequence that made me laugh harder than a movie had made me laugh in years. It’s also like 3 hours long though lol

I didn't like Terrifier at all but thought Terrifier 2 was a blast. The scene in the costume shop is so funny and the absurdity of the gore is so over the top.
Sort of enjoyed it on a pure technical level with the effects and silliness but absolutely see how it's hated.

Sorry to be that guy, but I had to pick four per decade
60s: Rosemarys Baby, Black Sunday, Carnival of Souls, NOTLD 70s: Texas Chainsaw, Suspiria, Halloween, The Exorcist 80s: The Fly, The Thing, Demons, Evil Dead 90s; Jacob’s Ladder, Audition, Scream, Exorcist 3 00s: House of the Devil, Ginger Snaps, 28 Days Later, the Descent 10s: It Follows, The Witch, Hereditary, Annihilation
Best decade: 1970s. I love the 80s and it is a bottomless well of good horror, but the 70s wins on a quality vs quantity well. Texas Chainsaw and Exorcist are THE two best horror films ever imo.
Worst decade: I gotta go 2000s. There is some great stuff in there that I really love, but there is SO much bullshit. The 90s is spotty too, but there is some great unsung stuff from the first half of the decade.
