I liked the second much more than the first. It is grosser, gorier, and makes you want a drippini after, which might not be a great selling point

editorial.rottentomatoes.com/guide/best-horror-movies-of-all-time/Another list for all those who celebrate. It’s tad bit less subjective just cuz they’re going off of the tomatometer. For someone with limited horror experience (probably none of you), can’t really go wrong with a list like this. Most of the heavy hitters/classics. 'A Quiet Place' at #10? I'm out. Other list is way better :-)

Finally checked out Doctor Sleep and thought it was great. Like a mashup of The Shining (obviously), Hocus Pocus, and Inception.

I gotta rewatch that this month but I really loved my first watch a few years ago. Flanagan simply has the juice.

Finally checked out Doctor Sleep and thought it was great. Like a mash up of The Shining (obviously), Hocus Pocus, and Inception. Was that the last expensive horror movie (by horror movie budget stabdards)? It was great, too bad it didn’t make money. The cornball Stephen King stuff that’s hard to translate to screen really worked. Ewan McGregor was great. It came and wen't and nobody talks about it. No idea why they spent that much money on it, but glad they did. Only thing I can think of that was comparable on budget since that was Scream 6.

There hasn't been a great Stephen King adaptation in over thirty years. Not sure his level of involvement in the adaptations but it seems not coincidental that they're all... off.

No movie has increased the social acceptance and capital of the hard-rocking like Dreamcatcher. A masterpiece not only for Jason Lee’s toilet scene, but for its inclusionary worldview. What if the hard-rocking are just gigantic, weird alien bugs in disguise?

Surprisingly good for a collaborative list published by a larger website. 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' at #1 is what's up. 'Salo...' in the top 10 is also what's up. Suspira at 99! Since I can't find that guy who wrote it prepare to be choked out mother fucker!

I watched 'Frankenstein' & 'Black Sunday' tonight as a result of that list. Both great, both better than 'Suspiria' ;-)

The Apprentice is pretty great, but a tough watch. Sebastian Stan doesn’t so much imitate Trump as he does embody him, slowly assuming his characteristics as the film develops. By the end, he’s Trump incarnate - but the real star here is Strong, who plays Roy Cohn with such convincing pathos that we almost sympathize with him when he realizes the monster he has created.
Go see it if you have the stomach.

Those two are celebrated stone-cold classics and among the best horror movies of all time. We were just raving about Black Sunday in the horror thread a couple days ago. I think this goes without saying, but if you enjoyed Frankenstein, definitely check out Bride of Frankenstein. For the record, I fucking love Suspiria as well.

I thought IT (2017) was really good. I enjoyed most of the second one too even though it's ruined by one of the worst endings I've ever seen.
