I thought IT (2017) was really good. I enjoyed most of the second one too even though it's ruined by one of the worst endings I've ever seen. IT was probably best Stephen King movie since Misery. Top shelf entertainment, great cast, tonal shifts all work. The second one was such a gigantic fall from grace and a case study why you need to keep King’s dumbest ideas or hardest to translate far away from the big screen. Shit pacing, worse performances and chemistry out of a very seasoned cast than their kid counterparts, little tension, didn’t nail the setting at all. It felt more like a Netflix show edited down by 50%.

never bothered with IT (2017) after a nu metal friend said the clown wasn't scary I thought it was fine but ill fight anyone who tries to tell me Skaarsgaard (sp?) was a better Pennywise than Tim Curry. Preposterous. The original has its flaws but otherwise I think it holds up.

I didn't enjoy the first one that much personally. There were too many moments where they just wen't for it in a really stupid way (starting with the arm bite in the beginning of the movie) that took me out of it. Second had pretty much nothing redeemable about it.

My favorite Stephen King adaptations are the ones he disowns or were changed drastically from the source material. Just watched Christine for the first time yesterday, which I enjoyed, but Stephen King didn't enjoy it.

Need some help here.
My buddies and I do horror movie nights every year, everyone hosts a night and picks two movies. I typically do one really good one that I think people may not have seen and one fun/absurd/etc one everyone can laugh at.
I’m good on the former (gonna do The Changeling, Prince of Darkness or Stage Fright spending on what people have seen) but I am STUCK on the latter.
To give an idea of past movies I’ve done that everyone has loved:
- Chopping Mall - Street Trash - Frankenhooker - Amsterdammed - Caroushell - Basket Case - Slaxx - Killer Workout/Death Spa
So I need something in that vein and to not waste anyone’s time if it’s obvious to you I’ve probably already considered it and or people have seen it.
If anyone’s got a real, real deep cut here, let ya boy know.

I hate Slugs it's literally just C.H.U.D which I hate and come to think they both have a lot in common with The Blob remake (love that movie) and C.H.U.D came out in 84 and the other 2 in 88. Weird. And some one tell me why instead of just removing the glove dude chopped his hand off?

Been a while since I've seen it, sadly can't answer your question at the moment.

Zombie Ass: Toilet of the Dead Death Toilet Subspecies Slime City
Anyone seen any of those?

Could do a sea creature feature, like Deep Star Six or Leviathan. Neither are good, but I didn’t hate watching them either.

Have you seen Black Sheep, the killer sheep movie? It’s a safe choice.

Also, Isolation is a killer sheep movie that ain’t bad. Not much levity to it, unlike Black Sheep.

Leviathan I liked but that and Deep Star Six are not the vibe I’m looking for TBH. If somebody doesn’t look at me during the movie I picked and go, “what the fuck are we watching,” I will have failed

Been a while since I've seen it, sadly can't answer your question at the moment. It's better than C.H.U.D they just have the same government cover up plots and I hate that. They also involve sewers. Slugs does have that pretty gnarly scene in the bedroom and the fucking slugs popping out dudes head. Also involve Gary Stu main charcters.
