I'm hanging with my cousin tomorrow and he's never seen the original Star Wars besides the Blu Ray releases... We're going to watch despecialized version of a A New Hope.

Still havent seen Solo, but have loved TFA TLJ and especially Rogue One (fav movie outside of the og trilogy).
There were def a couple super super corny moments in TLJ (leia swimming thru space was a real life LOL moment), and I would have liked for the threats of snoke and phasma to have been substantiated by more climactic endings, but I still loved it.
The poster who talked about Kylo's development and Rey's ferocity nailed it. Also love Poe.

We live in family housing at a university so there is pretty big turnover each quarter, and people always leave behind free stuff in the laundry rooms. My wife came up on the og trilogy on vhs a couple weeks ago. Stoked. Hoping I can find a cheapass vcr at goodwill for like $10 just to watch these.

I honestly think ANH, aside from the idiotic Greedo change was too mangled by the 97 SE. It's ROTJ that really gets longdicked, Jedi Rocks and switching Shaw for Christiansen are terrible offenses. I actually like a lot of the changes to TESB, more wampa, Cloud City has windows, Mcdiarmid in place of the OG Emperor.

I actually like a lot of the changes to TESB, more wampa, Cloud City has windows, Mcdiarmid in place of the OG Emperor. Agreed, fucking thank the maker they didnβt mess with ESB too bad. Almost all of the changes were more in the spirit of restoration and preservation than adding silly PS2 graphics aliens into every other scene. |

Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford were both like 6-7 years older than their characters and Carrie Fisher was 2 years older in ANH. So this means that all the leads were 10-6 years older than their character's in universe ages. Given how hard my princess lived her life, I don't understand why they didn't push the timeline forward a couple years. Luke and Leia barely supposed to be 53 years old in TLJ, but I guess Obi Wan set the standard that people age like shit in the Star Wars universe. |

Maul survives ep I because he channeled the dark side to will himself to live and is restored through Dathomirian dark side sorcery. It's just part of the Lucas really expanding and re-mystifying the force and really making things wonderfully weird which is a mainstay of the animated series. One of my favorite aspects of the franchise. |

When the fuck are we gonna get a Star Wars live action television show? It's absurd it hasn't happened yet. Give me a live action TV show that has the same late seventies/early eighties visuals/fashion/practical effects as the original trilogy. Whoever takes the whole "Stranger Things", "heart eyes, 80s nostalgia, OMG!!" thing and applies it to the Star Wars universe would be a hero to legions of aging nerds longing for nostalgia and flocks of jealous young geeks who wish they'd lived through that era.

Remember how great the first three movies are and how much they have fucked it up since then. None of the later movies stack up at all compared to the first three. Disney is doing what George tried to do which was appeal to everyone with the prequels and I can't say I'm happy.
